We don’t talk about Bruno, but let’s talk about these “Encanto”-inspired cakes!

Walt Disney Animation Studios‘ 60th feature, Encanto, has been met with high praise from critics and Disney fans alike. From the moment it hit theaters in November, it’s been uber-popular, and the music in the film is amazing! (Billboard Charts agree!)

It’s so good, in fact, that it has already won a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature!

The wonderful story about the magic of the amazing Madrigal family that lives in a magical house in a wondrous charmed place–an encanto–in a bustling small but vibrant town is one you just have to experience.

It features a star-studded cast that includes Jessica Darrow, John Leguizamo, and Stephanie Beatriz, and Lin-Manuel Miranda created the original songs that have taken Disney fans and the music world by storm!

And a wildly talented cake decorator named Josue Luciano of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has found a way to weave together his personal love for Disney’s Encanto with his affinity and talent for spectacular cake decorating!

One of Luciano’s Encanto-themed cake takes its inspiration from the main character in Disney’s newest film. Mirabel Madrigal is the only one in the Madrigal family who wasn’t blessed with a unique talent or ability. But this so-called “unspecial” Madrigal family member grows and blossoms into the person she was meant to be. She’s actually not just an ordinary Madrigal at all!

She wears pieces that feature vibrant colors that give off a unique vibe you’ll only find in Latin America. And the theme throughout those pieces is butterflies, or mariposas. They represent Mirabel Madrigal and her ability to burst forth from her cocoon into the life of the person she really is.

Luciano created this cake and went crazy with his piping bags to create a sweet treat with butterflies in every bite!

Don’t you love the array of bright colors?

And just look at the cake artist’s take on Isabela, Mirabel Madrigal‘s cousin, whose gift is two-fold: being effortlessly perfect and blooming flowers wherever she wants, whenever she wants.

Instead of creating a gorgeous pink cake with flowers all around, Luciano instead created a cake that serves (no pun intended) as a picture of the old Isabela and the new Isabela. One part of the cake is perfectly pink with flowers. It represents Isabela as we first meet her in the movie: perfect, blooming flowers, and living up to her Abuela Alma‘s expectations.

But the other part of the delicious-looking cake represents Isabela and her new-found freedom to be her true creative self. That part of the cake features cacti, various flowers, and plants, representing Isabela’s creativity.

Another one of Luciano’s cakes is inspired by Mirabel Madrigal‘s cousin, Dolores Madrigal. Dolores’s gift allows her to hear conversations from a mile away–literally. So for this cake, Luciano piped out soundwaves in icing.

It’s a beautiful cake, and it even depicts Dolores curly brunette locks tied up in her signature red bow!

Luciano has a big following on social media, and it’s easy to see why. He says he loves what he does, and his goal is to continue to share his culinary artwork.

“I love my job, so my main goal is to become one of the best cake decorators out there and keep sharing my art,” Luciano said in an interview.

Have you seen Disney’s Encanto, and if so, from which character would you like to see Luciano take his inspiration next?
