Upcoming ‘Jurassic Park’ Experience May Put Universal Studios to Shame After New Update

Universal and Saber Interactive may have dropped a mostly cryptic photo when updating fans about their upcoming first-person action-adventure video game “Jurassic Park: Survival”, but some eagle-eyed fans may have spotted a bombshell hiding in plain sight.

Recently, the studio and developer jointly posted a photo of their writing room for “Jurassic Park: Survival” across social media. At first glance it’s just binders, whiteboards, and a fat booklet labeled “Narrative Summary”.

At the far end of the room, though, is what appears to be a collage of pixelated images on a board—so blurred they still register as static when you zoom. And several fans did exactly that. Now, some believe they can make out first-person images of the game’s lead Dr. Maya Joshi driving a vehicle of some kind (most likely a gas-powered Jeep).

While driving hasn’t been confirmed anywhere in official material, the game’s website promises “a fully realized Isla Nublar” and survival from a first-person viewpoint the day after the 1993 film. However, it never uses the phrase “open world” and never mentions vehicles of any kind. Even Creative Director Oliver Hollis-Leick, in last year’s internal Q&A released through IGN, focused on navigating rough terrain on foot—stealth, route-planning, and avoiding a menu of hungry predators.

Still, the theory tracks with Jurassic franchise lore. Only the gas Jeeps are free of the park’s track system, so if players do get to drive, they’d likely be using the same red-and-grey workhorse seen skidding away from a charging T. rex in the original 1993 movie. A steering-wheel segment would also solve Isla Nublar’s scale problem: quick hops by Jeep mean Saber can build a larger map without forcing players into endless hikes.

While some fans continue to push forth the idea that the game will feature four-wheel drives, the tweet’s caption—“Hatching up fresh ideas may take time, but trust us, it’s worth it”—suggests nothing more than a brainstorming session.

For now, “Jurassic Park: Survival” remains date-less, and the only confirmed transportation is Dr. Joshi’s two legs. Should wheels join the toolkit, however, the game could turn out to be an experience that would put the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World attractions at Universal Studios to shame. Who needs log flumes when you have your own set of wheels? We know which one we’d choose to try and outrun a prehistoric predator.
