Universal Orlando Resort announced a massive change in safety protocols for popular attraction.
Universal Orlando is a popular theme park resort located in Orlando, Florida. It is comprised of two theme parks: Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. The resort also features Universal CityWalk, a dining, shopping, and entertainment district, and a water park for Guests to enjoy called Universal’s Volcano Bay.
Universal Studios Florida includes shows, and features attractions such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, Transformers: The Ride 3D, and the E.T. Next door, Universal’s Islands of Adventure is themed around adventure and features attractions such as The Incredible Hulk Coaster, the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures MotorBike Adventures, and Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
The VelociCoaster is a high-speed coaster that reaches speeds of up to 70 mph and features two launches, including one that goes from 0 to 50 mph in just three seconds. The coaster also includes several inversions, including a zero-gravity stall, a 360-degree barrel roll, and a high-speed inverted stall.

Universal describes Jurassic World VelociCoaster like this:
“Speeding through the jungle, rising high above the terrain, it’s the apex predator of roller coasters: the Jurassic World VelociCoaster. Now you can board your vehicle for a high-speed dash through the park’s raptor paddock. Feel the rush of the hunt as you race alongside these nimble predators, twisting and soaring above the land and water. Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.”
Universal has not given a comment on the change the safety protocols at this specific attraction, but this should help trains dispatch a little faster, which is great news for Guests who are wanting to get through the line even faster. Just recently, Universal added Universal Express to the attraction.
