Miranda Pearce, a mother of four, took to TikTok in shock after finding out the total cost for her family of four to visit the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.
Located in Orlando, Florida, this rival to the Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1990, just one year after Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Today, the popular theme park destination boasts a selection of thrill rides across all three parks: Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay, with another gate, Universal’s Epic Universe, to be added soon.

After spending just one day at Universal Studios Florida, the 41-year-old mom of two provided her followers on the social media platform with a full breakdown of the expenses, and everyone was blown away! In fact, she begins the video by asking viewers to guess how much they spent in one day, not including tips, and to “wait ’til the end, you ain’t going to believe it!”

Of course, as the family hails from Sandbach in the United Kingdom, they had to factor in the amount of round-trip airfare overseas and hotel lodging as well, but here’s the amount for just the expenses in the Parks once they arrived. Even attempting to cut down costs by eating breakfast at Wendy’s and dinner off-property at a Burger King, Miranda still spent a combined $120.97 on three meals due to the over $62 lunch, three bacon cheeseburgers with fries and a chicken Caesar salad, procured inside Universal Studios.

Furthermore, the family paid $483.66 total for theme park admission, plus $27 for onsite parking. Also, Miranda tacked on an additional $396 for the Universal Express Pass, similar to Disney’s Lightning Lane or Genie+, as she apparently did not want to wait in the long attraction lines with her six-year-old son.
Finally, Miranda noted that they only bought one souvenir the entire trip, a Gryffindor journal and pen within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, for a staggering $42! All in all, the Pearce family’s spending totaled $1,113.40, which astounded Miranda and many of her followers.
Although her horrified viewers commented things such as, “You’ve put me right off now,” “Thank you for clarifying, we will never go,” and “Well, I’m not going there anytime soon, that’s for sure,” the amount could have been a lot worse for a cross-Atlantic vacation for four. Of course, anyone who visits theme parks regularly is familiar with the associated expense and likely knows a few cost-cutting measures to save!
