Disney Dining Serving up the latest Disney Eats, Treats, News, and More!
Back in January 2022, Disney announced that Tim Allen would be returning to a role that he had played several times over the years — Scott Calvin, known to some as Santa Claus. Allen first put on the red suit when he played Calvin in Disney’s The Santa Clause, which came out in 1994. Twelve years later, he returned to the role for The Santa Clause 2 and then two years after that for The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Allen, along with costar Elizabeth Mitchell, would be returning for a new Disney+ series, The Santa Clauses.

The Santa Clauses officially aired on Disney+ on November 16 and quickly became one of the most in-demand new streaming shows. While the show has dropped in demand, it still remains in the top 10. Now, before season one has even finished airing, Disney announced that the show has been renewed for season 2.

Season 1 of The Santa Clauses is set in the modern-day and shows audiences that Scott — after being Santa for nearly 30 years — is as jolly as he has ever been. However, the Christmas spirit is dwindling, which causes Scott’s Santa magic to struggle. Scott decides that now would be a good time to retire, spend time with his family, and be the father his kids need him to be. Scott needs to pick the perfect person to replace him, but, things do not exactly go as planned.

The Santa Clauses is produced by Tim Allen and Jack Burditt and stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol Calvin AKA Mrs. Claus, Kal Penn as Simon Choski, Austin Kane as Cal, Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra, Matilda Lawler as Better, Devin Bright as Noel, and Rupali Redd as Grace.
The first six episodes of The Santa Clauses are currently available to stream on Disney+.
