The Stranger Things cast is making headlines as rumors swirl about their on-set behavior and its potential impact on the series finale. Social media erupted after an anonymous source alleged that the show’s original young actors, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), were difficult to work with during the production of the hit Netflix series.
A Rumored Fallout Behind the Scenes
The accusations first surfaced through the celebrity gossip Instagram account @DeuxMoi, where a tipster claimed the cast was uncooperative during the final season’s filming. A Reddit user, u/waltersskinner, shared a screenshot of the report, which began, “The kids grew up to be brats…Apparently the cast was horrible.”

The source added that the young stars often played on their phones between takes, leaving body doubles to handle their scenes.
One particular actor allegedly caused significant delays, refusing to perform more than two takes. While the anonymous tipster didn’t name anyone outright, many commenters speculated that the claim referred to Millie Bobby Brown.
“The director stood up and told her when she’s the director, she can decide how many takes,” the tipster claimed. “…She said, ‘When you’re the star, you get to decide how many takes.'”
Stranger Things Fans React to the Allegations
The accusations sparked heated discussions among fans, some of whom believed the claims, while others were quick to defend the young stars.
“My sister works for Waterstones, and she told me the following: Apparently during a book signing for her book, MBB got bored and left—despite the fact she was being paid to do it,” u/wtfisacrumpet wrote.
“I mean, honestly, I don’t think any of the young Stranger Things cast wants to be there,” said u/sudden-ad5555. “… They’ve all moved on and probably did want to do the bare minimum to finish out their contracts and the show.”
Others dismissed the rumors, pointing out the cast’s reputation for professionalism throughout the series’ long run.
“I don’t believe this one at all,” u/PicadillyVanilly replied. “One of my best friends worked as a grip on all but one season of ST, and he said they all were so gracious and hardworking…You could tell they were all over the show and grew out of it, but nobody was ever unprofessional.”
“I’m pretty defensive of MBB because people are so goddamn awful about her,” u/GreenAuror commented. “I know someone IRL who has worked with her on different things and they’ve always said really positive things about her and that the criticism she’s faced has kind of made her not open up as much and really distance herself from a lot of people.”
“Also, I live in Ohio and a neighbor found a stray dog they couldn’t keep, they tried several local rescues with no luck,” they continued. “His daughter is a fan of Millie’s, knew she had a rescue and decided to reach out. They heard back, Millie arranged transportation from Ohio to her rescue in Georgia, and was able to rehome the dog in about a week.”
Netflix and the Future of Stranger Things
As of now, Netflix has not commented on the allegations or confirmed any further delays to the series finale, which was delayed during the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things recently wrapped production and is expected to premiere later this year, though a release date has not yet been announced.
