Spoiler Alert: Loki and Scarlet Witch Are A Thing…!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has offered the world hours of content based on Marvel Comics’ seemingly endless roster of superhuman characters. Two of the most beloved on-screen pseudo villains…let’s call them anti-heroes…are Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximoff. Now it looks like Loki and Scarlet Witch may be joining forces…in romance!

Loki is the frequently villainous adopted brother of the Avenger Thor, who is the Asgardian god of Thunder. Loki is known for his mischievous personality and ability to shapeshift, as well as his affinity for magic and illusion. Loki may or may not be dead in the MCU, as Disney Plus’ Loki series offers a multitude of variants invading a number of timelines.

Wanda Maximoff, on the other hand, started out under the Avenger’s wing after the death of her twin brother known as Quicksilver (at least in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.) As Scarlet Witch, she has the ability to manipulate reality, energy and matter, and is often considered one of the most powerful Avengers characters.  After losing her love, Vision, to Thanos, Wanda becomes unhinged and does some pretty dark things over the course of Marvel Studios’ WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Though both Loki and Scarlet Witch have used dark magic, they have also shown their capacity for good and actually make a pretty compelling romantic couple! Now Marvel Comics is teasing just that storyline in an upcoming September edition of Scarlet Witch #8, Russell Dauterman’s cover reads, “Mischief and Chaos Collide!” as Loki and Scarlet Witch entangle in an intimate embrace.

In reference to this, Marvel even tweeted, “God vs. Witch! This September, Wanda and Loki fall under each other’s spell…” The Direct is calling Wanda and Loki the potential ‘it’ couple of fall 2023, Marvel fans are absolutely here for it. Wanda’s chaos magic and Loki’s mischief will certainly lead to a series of unfortunate events…but again, also maybe romance. The MCU should seriously think about instituting this plot line ASAP. Who doesn’t want to watch the complicated and emotional struggle Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen would undoubtedly knock out of the park??
