Snow White holds a significant place in Disney’s history and, recently, a significant place in Disney news. Disney’s newest project to create a live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) featuring Rachel Zegler has sparked much controversy. Now, with Disney’s newest merchandise announcement for its game Lorcana, even more questions are being raised about Disney’s first princess, Snow White.

Last week, Disney announced that the highly anticipated remake was postponed. The release of Snow White, featuring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen was pushed from March 22, 2024, to March 21, 2025. This update confirmed that fans will now have to wait an additional year for the film. However, even before this announcement, the film faced strong initial pushback from the public.
In reaction to the details Disney first released about the Snow White film, many Disney fans have complained about the film being too “woke.” Many believe Disney is using the remake to push key points of their company’s agenda, asking them to return to the original storyline. Others have raised concerns about the portrayal of the seven dwarfs in the new film. At first, fans thought the dwarfs were being removed from the movie. However, recent updates have shown that the seven dwarfs will be featured, even if they’ve been removed from the title.

Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn
As the star of Disney’s first ever feature-length animated film, it’s surprising that it’s taken months and multiple releases before we’ve seen the princess featured in the game. This newest collection will include not only Snow White but also the Evil Queen and all seven dwarfs. In the creative nature of Disney Lorcana, the cards can work together, with Snow White’s card giving advantage to the play of the seven dwarf cards. Additionally, the artwork on the seven dwarfs, when placed side by side, will create a panoramic backdrop across the cards. These unique features are just a few details that set Lorcana apart from other trading card games.
