Disney has not had a very smooth time on the road that is Disney+. The streaming service launched just over four years ago and, while it saw initial success, things have steadily gone downhill. Now-fired CEO Bob Chapek promised that Disney+ would be successful by 2024, but those comments are now the source of a lawsuit, so everything is up in the air.

As a way to help save the company a serious amount of money, Disney has canceled a lot of Disney+ original series. This includes National Treasure: Edge of History, The Mysterious Benedict Society, American Born Chinese, and Big Shot. The studio giant also canceled two series that had been filmed, but not yet aired — The Spiderwick Chronicles and Nautilus.
While subscribers have gotten used to hearing about series’ cancellations, we have some good news! On February 2, Disney and Pixar will release a brand-new short film. The film will be called Self, and will tell the story of a wooden doll who struggles to fit in.

This is not the only good news that Disney+ subscribers have received recently.
On January 2, Disney announced that Disney+ subscribers will be able to receive a FREE dining plan when they book select Walt Disney World Resort vacations. That’s right, a free dining plan!
Disney+ subscribers who book a non-discounted 4-night/4-day package through The Walt Disney Travel Company will be able to receive a free dining plan to use during their stay. The package must include a stay at a Walt Disney World hotel, as well as a theme park ticket WITH the park hopper option.
Disney+ subscribers will be able to take advantage of this offer for stays beginning July 1 through September 30, 2024. It is important to note that the offer is valid for stays beginning “most” nights. So, if you are planning on taking advantage of this offer, be sure to check with your Walt Disney World Resort travel agent to make sure you arrive on a day that is valid.
Again, Self will be available to stream on Disney+ beginning February 2.
