See ‘Hamilton’ in an All-New Way on Disney+

It’s a 4th of July miracle! Hamilton is coming to Disney+ in an all new way!!!! The critically acclaimed musical has aired on Disney’s streaming platform since July 3rd 2020 and we have been OBSESSED! Now Disney’s got a brand new way for you to be “in the room where it happens”

The musical follows Alexander Hamilton on his journey to the top. Along the way we meet beloved historical figures like Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson (strange that they look so much alike isn’t it?) as well as JohnLaurens and George Washington and of course Aaron Burr. The musical highlights Hamilton’s victories and failings in a raw and emotionally stirring way.

The musical, which made its Broadway debut in 2015, was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, whom Disney fans will know from well …everything. He played Jack in Mary Poppins Returns, voiced GizmoDuck in the Ducktales reboot, wrote and performed songs for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Moana, and Encanto (yes, you can blame him for Bruno), composed music for and produced the live action version of The Little Mermaid, and he’s set to star in the upcoming film Percy Jackson and the Olympians. You could say that “the man is nonstop” but that may be a bit cheesy, no? Hamilton was nominated for 16 Tony Awards and won 11 of them!

Beginning tomorrow, June 30, 2023, you can join in on the Revolutionary action with a sing-along version of the musical! We are just going to pretend we haven’t been singing along at home this whole time… or that it’s taken every ounce of willpower we’ve got not to sing along in the theater. Still, this version is exciting because you might be able to sing every word of “the Story of Tonight” but can you honestly tell me you can sing every word to “Guns and Ships?” Now you’ll be able to!

This sing along version is only available on Disney+. The streaming platform has not said if it will be a permanent fixture or if it’s only available for a limited time. You know what that means right? Go get ‘your right hand man” and plan a viewing party now…just in case!
