That’s why fans went into a tizzy this weekend when a poster of the new live-action Hunchback went viral after being shared by star Josh Gad.Â

Over the weekend, a Disney movie poster began circulating on social media. The poster was for a live-action The Hunchback of Notre Dame remake, and fans were overjoyed. A star-studded cast was announced on the poster, including actors like Chris Evans, Pete Capaldi, Imelda Staunton, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Black, and Sacha Baron Cohen. The show also revealed that Josh Gad and Gal Gadot would star in the leading roles of Quasimodo and Esmeralda.
Shortly after the poster went viral, Josh Gad shared the poster on this social media. This made fans even more excited about the movie. Back in 2019, DEADLINE reported that a live-action The Hunchback of Notre Dame was indeed in the works by the Walt Disney Company. The article also revealed that Josh Gad would be a producer of the new film. Unfortunately, the excitement of fans may have been short-lived.
Josh Gad Reveals Truth About “Hunchback” Poster
Josh went back and changed the caption of his post later on and explained that the Live action film poster was fan-made and not legitimate.
His caption says, “Wow. This spread quickly. 🤷‍♂️ 🔔🔔🔔 Lol. Okay, for the record, this is not real. This is a Fancast! I was just responding to it. Love that you guys all want this. We do to! The script is one of the best I have read and hopefully the powers that be will see this love and let us make the live action adaptation the original animated film deserves. But for now, again, this is just a fan cast!!”
Unfortunately, for now, we will have to wait and see what is to come for this movie.
