Radiator Springs Racers is undoubtedly one of the most beloved attractions at Disney California Adventure. Located in the heart of Cars Land, this thrilling ride takes guests on a high-speed adventure through the picturesque town of Radiator Springs. However, like any well-loved attraction, it occasionally requires a little tender loving care.
Earlier this year, Disneyland Resort announced that Radiator Springs Racers, one of the feature attractions of Disney California Adventure Park, would be closing for routine refurbishments. Now, some rumors are indicating that the refurbishment may be a little more extreme than Disney originally let on.

‘Cars Land’ Loses Major Attraction
Disneyland Resort is no stranger to refurbishments and enhancements, as the Walt Disney Company constantly strives to provide guests with the best possible experiences. For rides like Radiator Springs Racers, their refurbishments aim to improve the ride’s functionality, aesthetics, and overall guest experience.
While it is a bummer for fans who travel long distances to the Parks in the hope of experiencing a particular attraction, maintenance is a necessary part of keeping Disney’s rides working well for many more years to come.
Routine Refurbishment, or Something More?
Disney previously revealed that the refurbishment for this attraction is supposed to be done soon, and the ride we reopen on August 27, 2023. This is great news, and fans are thrilled to be able to ride this attraction once more. With the ride’s reopening just weeks away, fans are hoping that some problems with the ride have been addressed.
According to theme park reporter Scott Gustin, the refurbishment is apparently going to address and fix some of the issues with the ride’s raceway.
