A Christmas Miracle: Extra Reservations Open Up for Christmas

If You’re planning a last-minute Christmas trip to Walt Disney World, you’re in luck! There’s nothing better than deciding on a whim to go to the Most Magical Place on Earth.  One of my fondest childhood memories consists of us deciding, at the last minute, to drive down to Disney on Christmas day. It was a magical holiday that I’ll never forget (we even stopped and ate Chinese food on the road because nothing else was open).

Sadly, the Park Pass reservation system has made that essentially a thing of the past, as passes for arguably the most popular week to go to Disney World are gone months in advance. No pass, no entry, even if you have a park ticket. Cancelations do happen, but this makes it risky to go down impromptu because who would plan an entire trip around a maybe?

Luckily though, if you haven’t already secured your park passes, you’re in luck! Not long ago, Disney released a bunch of extra passes for Annual Passholders, and now they’ve opened more availability for resort and day ticket guests. Previously almost entirely booked, there are now park passes available for every day for the remainder of the Christmas season.  At the time of this writing (December 17, 2022), 10 days have availability in every pa,rk while 5 days have limited availability (no Magic Kingdon passes available).

If you’ve been dreaming of a Disney Christmas, this is the sign you’ve been waiting for to make plans and go. The extra reservations present the perfect opportunity to give the whole family a gift they will never forget. Of course, crowds during this time of year are a concern. Typically Christmas week is the busiest week of the whole year, but that doesn’t appear to be the case this year. Reports of low crowds have been surprising us all season long. The addition of extra park reservations led us to believe this could be one of the best years in recent memory to be at Walt Disney World this Christmas. To purchase tickets, contact your favorite travel agent or purchase directly from Disney here. Be sure to check the reservation availability

About Jill Bivins

Jill Bivins has been visiting Disney Parks since she was 2 years old and loves sharing her Disney adventures with the world. She likes to say Disney is in her blood and writing is in her bones — so any time she has the opportunity to combine these loves she is one happy camper! She has a deep abiding love for Epcot and as a die hard Star Wars fan has a serious love for Hollywood Studios as well. When she isn't exploring or writing about Disney Parks, Jill is homeschooling her 8 year old son, playing with her brand new baby son, or pretending to be a farmer on her family homestead (despite being unable to keep even a cactus alive).
