Walt Disney World just underwent major new changes on March 10.

One of the most noticeable effects of the time change is the adjustment that comes to park hours. Disney World typically aligns its operating hours with the new time schedule as clocks “spring forward” in the spring and “fall back” in the fall. T

his means that during Daylight Saving Time, the parks may extend their opening hours to take advantage of the additional daylight in the evenings. Conversely, when Daylight Saving Time ends, park hours may be shortened to accommodate earlier sunsets.

The altered park hours can impact guests’ vacation planning. Longer operating hours during Daylight Saving Time offer guests more time to explore attractions, enjoy shows, and immerse themselves in the magic of Disney well into the evening.

Conversely, shorter operating hours during the transition out of Daylight Saving Time may require guests to adjust their schedules and prioritize their must-see attractions earlier in the day.

Additionally, the time change affects the timing of parades, shows, and nighttime spectaculars. Disney World typically adjusts the schedules of these entertainment offerings to align with the new times.

For example, evening shows such as fireworks displays and nighttime parades may start later during Daylight Saving Time to take advantage of the extended daylight hours. Conversely, as the days grow shorter after the end of Daylight Saving Time, these shows may be scheduled earlier to avoid darkness.

One big change that happened on March 10 has to do with two popular nighttime spectaculars: Happily Ever After will now commence at 8:30 p.m. over in Magic Kingdom, and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Fantasmic! will have showtimes at 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Another change that guests may not know about is that in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one popular attraction is affected by the changes in time. Kilimanjaro Safaris modified its operating hours, opening slightly later at 8:30 a.m. and closing at 6:45 p.m. beginning March 10.

This alteration provides guests with the opportunity to experience the safari later in the day and possibly see the animals more active.

This recent time change can impact guests’ internal clocks and energy levels. The shift in time may disrupt sleeping patterns, especially for guests traveling from different time zones or those sensitive to changes in daylight. Disney World Guests may find themselves adjusting to earlier or later meal times, rope drop, and park activities as their bodies acclimate to the new schedule.
