Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most exciting, profitable, and memorable Disney-produced franchises to date. Bringing a ton of seafaring fun and introducing the world to Johnny Depp as the iconic Jack Sparrow, many wonder what will happen with the franchise now that Depp is out.
Will Pirates of the Caribbean 6 happen? Who will take the lead? Will any familiar faces show up? There are a ton of questions and speculative answers to consider. However, we know one potential answer is no longer on the table for Disney.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is highly anticipated by franchise fans, especially considering the potential return of Johnny Depp as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow. The previous installment left audiences eager for more adventures on the high seas with Captain Jack.
However, as rumors swirl around recasts with Margot Robbie, weird scripts by writers Craig Mazin and Ted Elliot, and Johnny Depp not wanting to return, the future of Pirates is up in the air.

Outside of Jack Sparrow, the franchise has presented many other memorable characters, including Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), and Will Turner’s son, Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites).

Despite the potential for a spinoff featuring one of the other familiar characters who’ve performed alongside Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, we now know that the potential return of one beloved character, Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, is most likely out of the question.

A sixth film will have to move forward without Knightley’s Elizabeth Swann character, according to an older interview she did in which she shared her distaste for the young heroine.
Disney finds itself up against a proverbial wall; if they want to move forward with a sixth Pirates movie with Captain Jack Sparrow, they’ll have to have a notable movie character from a previous film to peak viewer interest. Knightley seems to have made it clear that she is not the answer.

“[Elizabeth Swann] was the object of everybody’s lust…[I was] coming from being really tomboyish to getting projected as quite the opposite. I felt very constrained. I felt very stuck…It very much felt like I was caged in a thing I didn’t understand… I was incredibly hard on myself. I was never good enough,” Keira Knightley shared with Harper’s Bazaar.
According to State Facts, it seems as if Knightley felt that her character was overly sexualized during her time in the original trilogy. She felt that her lusty role left her feeling “caged in” and “stuck.”
However, it’s worth noting that Elizabeth Swann did make an appearance in Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) when she was reunited with Will Turner after breaking age-old pirate curses. Also worth noting is that she was part of a mid-credit scene in which Davy Jones was reintroduced.

Without Johnny Depp, who was fired by Disney from his role as Jack Sparrow and by Warner Bros from the Fantastic Beasts franchise after rumors of abuse were published in an expose by Amber Heard in the Washington Post, a new film or project would need comparable star power to keep fans interested.
Perhaps without star johnny Depp, and now apparently Kiera Knightley, it’s best for Disney to move on from the idea of a remake. If they do, the legend of Jack Sparrow will live on through previous films, and of course, in the popular ride you’ll find in your nearest Disney Park.

Disney has forked this up so much, and proven themselves to be so Incompetent that I would not be interested in supporting their business. Disney does not need to Remake old movies. They need to remake their business model. Disney is not disney any longer and I don’t like the new Disney.
Disney has done Johnny Depp / Capt Jack Sparrow Wrong. He added charisma and depth to the character..I totally agree No Johnny Depp No Jack Sparrow..Disney needs to Drop the woke crap and get back to basics of making Great family movies Again..

I agree Disney’s messed up if they don’t fix their relationship with JD they can forget about another sequel or spinoff. They continue to make bad decisions about their films and series.The Scarlett Johansson firing,losing most of the Original cast of MCU,JD with the uncalled for firing and replacing him in other films without the facts,and they are losing Pedro Pascal also and that was known as soon as they fired Gina Carano.they continue to lose tons of cash and alienate the fans while treating the actors as they are nothing more than toys that they can throw away when they are done with them.If they don’t fix the issues with their treatment of Depp and many others they can continue to fail and throw money down the drain.We will not waste time on anymore of the crap they have been churning out .fix the course of the ship or continue to sink we need a petition to make sure they make things right with JD it was totally wrong. Jonny depp made jack sparrow! No one else could ever portray Jack sparrow like Johnny depp! And I like Keira Knightley ad well. Disney screwed up when they let Johnny Depp go. Disney is definitely not as good as it used to be.

Without Johnny Depp their’s not a # 6. Disney owes Johnn a huge public apology for the way they treated him, so untill then, America is boycotting all of Disney movies.
I don’t believe Knightley should be excluded, HOWEVER, there are ways around not killing off or replacing a character.
Ex: I really didn’t like the Mummy 3 when Rachel Wise’ character Evie, was replaced with someone else. There was no doubt the replacement was beautiful, but it wasn’t Evelyn.
Ex: Sun Yung’s replacement made it difficult to watch in Rush Hour 3. It just wasn’t the same. The different girl could’ve been a child of a different mother, or something simple as that.
All in all, No, Keira Knightley’s character should NOT be replaced, and although it would be difficult to enjoy without her, I’m sure the rest of the cast would put on a great performance, still.
Of course, she could be written without being lusted after. You know, as just one of the crew?
Ex: Princess Leah had to wear a gold bikini once. She was still The Sh1t, up to her senior citizen status, by the end of the franchise. So, . . . . No worries, k? 😊

Johnny Depp was so good in all 5 movies. I have watched them 3 times. He made the show by making it funny and surprising. I loved watching. But without Johnny I guess you need to stop and go to something else. We were spoiled having him in the movies. He is a great actor. You should have known that and not letting him go so fast without thinking first.

I believe that Johnny Depp makes Jake Sparrow. With out him there really no POC. Someone else can’t act the way Johnny did. Cariter is what makes the best. I will never watch the 6 thing one. Without johnny

How are they able to say Kira doesn’t want to be in it and they don’t want Johnny if they are in the dad gum trailer for the movie. How does one participate in the trailer if they aren’t In the movie, and why would Disney make a trailer with people they aren’t putting in the movie. Someone needs to come in and buy back pirates, and star wars and a few others and wash the franchise of the Disney filth and make them better
