Plaza Ice Cream Parlor Review

Plaza Ice Cream Parlor Review

At the end of Main Street U.S.A., across from Casey’s Corner, is the infamous Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. This place is always busy, especially during parades and fireworks. If you have a craving for hand scooped, classi

c ice cream this is the place for you. The Parlor’s doors are wide-open ad the scent of freshly made waffle cones and bowls drift out to Main Street.

The sometimes-long lines are managed by railed off sections, which lead to cashiers. Once your order has been placed simply head to the front counter where you can watch as cast members top sundaes off with hot fudge and pull waffle bowls off the iron. The cast members even ask if you want all the toppings on your sundae, so if you aren’t a fan of whipped cream or ch

erries have no fear.

On this visit to the Parlor I ordered the classic Plaza Sundae, a large serving of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry all served in one of those hot off the press waffle bowls. My boyfriend ordered the hand scooped Cookies and Cream cone.

Other ice cream flavors are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, no sugar added butter pecan, no sugar added raspberry sorbet, and fat-free chocolate-vanilla swirl. If you would rather have your sundae in any of these other flavors just ask. Tofutti and Rice Dream are available for those with dietary restrictions.

The ice cream is the standard Edy’s served throughout Disney World. I found my sundae to be delicious, and I especially enjoyed the contrast of the cold ice cream to the hot fudge! The waffle bowl was sweet and crisp, not at all soggy. The

sundae is a large serving. I would suggest sharing one, as I could not finish it by myself! The Cookies and Cream ice cream had a nice texture; there were small bits of cookie in the ice cream, but nothing too large. The cone was served with cute little chocolate ears and a face. Again, this was too much ice cream for one person to eat so I suggest sharing or waiting until you’re really hungry to get your own.

F.A.S.T. Review

Food – Classic ice cream sundaes and cones are served here. There is a good range of flavors as well as options for those with dietary restrictions.

Atmosphere – The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor fits right in with the turn of the century theming found on Main Street. It can be busy inside.

Service – The cast members are used to dealing with large crowds here and are very efficient while still being capable of taking special requests.

Tips – Seating can be hard to find next to the Parlor, so head over towards the Tomorrowland Terrace where there is plenty of seating.
