Pirates of the Caribbean is a beloved film franchise known for its swashbuckling adventures, humor, and memorable characters. The series was launched by Disney with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003, and it quickly became a global sensation.

The Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise features a colorful cast of characters, with some of Hollywood’s finest actors bringing them to life. In the later series, Johnny Depp or Captain Jack Sparrow was the character they focused on more, leaving other characters still to be able to expand further.

One character who fans are hoping for a deeper story is Will Turner, who is brought to life by Orlando Bloom. ScreenRant recently published a piece sharing that Orlando Bloom’s character, Will Turner, should take center stage in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, rather than Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.

While this hasn’t been confirmed, it would make sense considering the end-credits scene for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and could be a way for Disney to work around not having Johnny Depp in the film.

Of course, no one can deny that Johnny Depp plays the most iconic character in the series, known for his witty one-liners, eccentric mannerisms, and unique sense of style.

Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth Swann, but it seems unlikely that she will return. Throughout the series, she evolves from a damsel in distress to a courageous and capable pirate.

While these characters have grown, some will not return, most likely, to Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Johnny Depp has faced backlash and was labeled him a “wife-beater” in his tumultuous relationship with actress Amber Heard. As a result of this legal battle and the negative publicity surrounding it, Disney reportedly distanced itself from Depp, leading to questions about whether he would reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming installment.

It was widely speculated that Disney might choose to either recast the character or take a new direction for the franchise without Johnny Depp’s involvement. Some reports suggested that the studio was considering a female-led spinoff centered around new characters.

While this is all speculation, fans are hopeful that an original character will star in Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

  1. Disney,
Pirates of the Caribbean is a success because of Mr. J.
The Pirates of the Caribbean wouldn’t be famous if it wasn’t for Mr. J. Depp and you know this!!
All of his fans will be looking for him in the movie!!
He doesn’t have to be in the center, just don’t cut him out of the movie!! Have all of the Characters retun and have Orlando Bloom be in the center of the movie but just don’t cut J. Depp from “The Pirates of the Caribbean #6!!!!!!
I’m a huge fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies!!
It wouldn’t be the same if Mr Johnny Depp wasn’t there!!
Another thing, please leave Mr. J. Depp alone and put him in the movie. If you leave Mr. J. Depp out of The Pirates of the Caribbean movie, NO ONE is going to like it!!!

    • You are correct about that I wouldn’t care if all the members were there in the movie Johnny Depp isn’t there I’m not watching Pirates I’m willing to bet if anybody else sees Johnny Depp not being Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie they won’t go either

      • POTC 6 will not succeed without Johnny Depp. Disney fired him without cause. He was proven innocent. Disney owes him a Hugh public apology. Until then they will not receive any money from myself, friends and family.

  2. Curiously you mention “Johnny Depp has faced backlash and was labeled a “wife-beater” in his tumultuous relationship with actress Amber Heard. As a result of this legal battle and the negative publicity surrounding it, Disney reportedly distanced itself from Depp” yet you don’t mention that-why do you not share that on:

On June 1, a Virginia jury ruled that Heard was liable of defaming Depp in her 2018 Washington Post op-ed—in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” awarding him $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages

Luckily many millions of people watched this trial COMPLETELY to know the facts, and all the lies and abuse the evidence showed.

It sickens me that she used the me-too movement for her own selfish gain (though it largely backfired).

  4. They want to make a pirates of the Caribbean without Johnny sounds like they wanna lose money. I did not go to fantastic beasts third movie because they had fired Johnny a lot of people didn’t go see it because of that and look how well it did at the box office.

  5. I agree.with out J Depp I would not have any interest in seeing the movie.

  6. I agree Mr. Johnny Depp is the total essence of Pirates of the Caribbean. Without his presence in the film as the LEADING role….. what’s the point. No offence to all the other fabulous actors but Johnny is irreplaceable and a MUST have for Pirates 6

  7. There is no pirates of the Caribbean without J Depp

  8. Disney knows that Johnny Depp is INNOCENT of domestic violence charges. I will not be watching any more POTC movies until Mr. Johnny Depp is given a public apology and is invited back with open arms
Until then, Disney can go pound sand
