Our Favorite Holiday Treat is Back at Hollywood Studios

Prepare your taste buds because our very favorite holiday treat is back again this year! We’re talking, of course, about the hot cocoa flight at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This delightful mashup of flavors is absolutely a treat, and we are so glad it is back again this year.

For those that are unfamiliar with it, this hot cocoa flight is high octane (i.e., it’s spiked), and that adds a level of complexity to the flavor that you don’t get from ordinary hot cocoa. You get a trio of tasting-sized hot cocoa, each flavored with a different alcoholic shot: Bailey’s Irish Cream, Red Stag Cherry Bourbon, and Stoli Vanilla Vodka. I’ve tried them all multiple times, and you can’t go wrong with any of them.

The Bailey is great.  However, the flavors blend so well together that you can’t really notice the addition. That isn’t a bad thing. It’s just not something you’ll remember after you drink it. It’s hot cocoa, with a bit of extra sweetness. If you’re not usually a liquor drinker, this is the one for you!

The Stoli Vanilla Vodka is a bit harsh for the creamy, chocolaty beverage. You definitely taste the Vodka, and in my opinion, the vanilla flavors don’t really come through, which is disappointing. It’s got a definite kick to it which depending on your personal preference, could be a good thing or a bad thing. I really liked it, but I just don’t know that I’d order one by itself.

The Red Stag Cherry Bourbon, though, is really a stand-out. The cherry and the chocolate come together in a delicious blend that is both comforting and festive. The bourbon flavor is mild but still zesty enough to let you know it’s there. This one is far and away my favorite.

Each version of this flight is available for purchase as a stand-alone beverage. That means, after you’ve sampled all 3, you can go back and choose a full-sized version of your favorite. In years past, the price for a full-size version was the same as the cost of the flight.

If you are as excited as I am for this delicious smattering of hot cocoa, you can find it at Fairfax Fare or Dockside Diner at Hollywood Studios beginning November 8, 2022. Pricing for the flight hasn’t been released yet. In years past, the flight was $12.00, but with recent increases around the Resort, we expect it will be a dollar or two more this year. Even still, we highly recommend this treat and think it’s well worth it! You’ll want to hurry though, it goes away on New Years Day!
