Opening Date Finally Announced for New EPCOT Restaurant

In May, Disney announced that a brand new sushi restaurant was coming to EPCOT! Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is headed for the Japan Pavilion and will take the place of Tokyo Dining. We were so excited to bring you the news about the new sushi bar and grill, but at the time, very little was known about the upcoming delicious destination. Today we are equally excited to share more!

The menu has not yet been released. However, the restaurant’s website says they will offer  “a variety of mouthwatering izakaya-style delicacies, including savory skewers, crispy tempura, succulent sushi rolls, and hearty okonomiyaki.” The restaurant will also be themed to Japan’s seasonal festivals, so expect a menu that rotates seasonally. According to the website for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, “Create unforgettable memories inspired by the spirit of Japan’s vibrant seasonal festivals. A cultural representative from Japan will guide you through each unique festival experience, one bite at a time. You’ll participate in Tanabata festivities during the summer, savor moon-viewing dumplings in the autumn, and so much more.”

That’s all well and good, but the real question on everyone’s mind has been, “When will it open!?” There’s good news there as well! This morning, Disney officially announced the opening date for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. You’ll be able to sink your teeth into mouth-watering fresh sushi beginning August 30, 2023! With the opening date so close (just 20 days from now!!!!), we were curious about reservations. As of this morning, you can make reservations at this EPCOT establishment.

The website makes a point to mention that reservations are required, so if you have your heart set on what is sure to be a very popular table service spot at EPCOT, you’ll want to make your reservations ASAP! Reservations can be made at all Walt Disney World Resort table service restaurants 60 days in advance. To make an advanced dining reservation, click here
