Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most fabulous vacation destinations in the world, and we can totally see why!

With four different theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT), two water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach), a huge town center (Disney Springs), and dozens of Resort hotels, there’s literally something for everyone at Walt Disney World.

But it’s almost as if it’s not enough, as the Walt Disney Company is constantly expanding, pushing the boundaries of Disney magic, and adding new experiences to each Disney Park.

For example, Disney’s EPCOT theme park is gearing up to officially open a brand new attraction to the public, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, with Annual Passholder Previews beginning later this month.

Not only that, but both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort are preparing to debut Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which was previously Splash Mountain, in 2024.

But one upcoming addition’s progress has been halted, and its opening has been delayed and pushed back an entire year. We’re talking about the Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn:

We can’t say that this was entirely surprising. The upcoming Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort was initially scheduled to open in 2023, according to Walt Disney World Resort’s official website.

However, at some point, the rough 2023 opening date had been removed from Disney World’s official website, hinting at a delay in the upcoming offering’s opening date.

Now, it’s official.

While we don’t know precisely when Disney’s BoardWalk Resort addition will debut, we do know that it’ll likely open in the spring of next year. We also know the Cake Bake Shop is replacing the former ESPN Club location.

As the adorable name suggests, the Cake Bake Shop is going to be an excellent spot for desserts and teas, offering “both savory and dessert menus, along with afternoon tea service, in a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love,” according to Disney.

Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk Inn is one of the most aesthetically pleasing Resort hotels in the entire vacation destination. Modeled after the “turn-of-the-century” era Atlantic City, this waterfront Disney Resort has everything from fun amenities to spectacular views.

Guests can enjoy offerings such as the Luna Park Pool (which includes a fun waterslide) and the fitness center, where guests can experience everything from state-of-the-art fitness equipment to massages.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn also offers both arcade and carnival-style games, and lots of fun recreational activities, such as movies under the stars, mini-golf, pickle-ball, and more!

Best of all, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is within walking distance of Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Don’t feel like walking? The Disney Resort hotel also offers free transportation to each Disney theme park.
