Disney’s Wish

Asha is the main protagonist of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ newest film. Asha, together with Star and her cute goat sidekick Valentino, must work to save her community, Rosa, from “formidable foes.” The film is described as a musical-comedy, and just recently, we got a closer look at the film’s villain, King Magnifico, voiced by Chris Pine, and one of his featured songs, “This Is The Thanks I Get?”. Currently, Disney has only released the song’s single without a music video.

Wish is directed by Chris Buck, known for directing Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019), and Fawn Veerasunthorn, known for directing Raya and the Last Dragon (2021). Along with these iconic directors, well-known producers Peter Del Vehco, producer for the Frozen films, and Juan Pablo Reyes, producer for Encanto (2021), are also behind this upcoming film.

While Disney fans have had mixed reactions to the film’s recent promos and songs, we don’t have much longer to wait until the film’s release date later this month to see how it stacks up against the Disney classics. Until then, we’ll have to find Asha herself in EPCOT’s World Showcase and ask her what she thinks of the thrilling tale.

About Megan Losey

As a Disney foodie, I love writing about Disney food and snacks. Some of my favorites are the Carrot Cake Cookie from Trolley Car Cafe, the Mickey Beignets from Port Orleans French Quarter, and the Apple Blossom from Port Orleans Riverside. When I'm visiting the parks, you can find me on Main Street taking in the good vibe of Magic Kingdom or relaxing with a drink at the Polynesian watching the fireworks from the beach. As a previous Cast Member, I will always have a special place in my heart for the Magic Kingdom, especially Main Street U.S.A.
