Destination D23 is currently taking place at Disney World’s Contemporary Resort, and that can only mean one thing; lots of exciting new Disney Parks news. As the day progresses, we’ll be here to provide all of the amazing details about what the future of Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and other Disney Parks around the world look like as news breaks during each panel. Although the conversations are just getting started at D23, we’ve already got a few interesting updates, including the inclusion of Asha at EPCOT, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

Asha is the lead protagonist to Disney’s upcoming film, Wish. Releasing from Walt Disney Pictures later this year, Wish is an animated feature that is different from what we’re used to seeing from Disney. Together, Asha and Star, a dim-witted idealist, must join together against a “formidable foe” to save her community. Disney’s newest film gets back to what made Disney magic so specific in the first place, and is set to help the entertainment company get back to the top at the box office.

It looks like Asha, the lead character, will be represented well at Disney Parks when her character makes her way to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Although we don’t know a lot about the film, outside of the fact that actress Ariana DeBose will voice Asha alongside Chris Pine as the sinister King Magnifico. As we’re always excited about new character experiences, such as Mirabel at Magic Kingdom, we can’t wait to see how Disney incorporates Asha within the parks. Since we can safely assume that she’ll be making her way around the Disney globe as a meet and greet, it’s an exciting time for Disney animation to bring new features to life for fans to enjoy, and unlike many of their Star Wars characters, Asha will not only be at Disneyland Resort.
