Hey, howdy, hey!

Disney Parks Blog first gave us something to look forward to with a post published on November 30, 2018. In that post, Disney announced a projected opening date sometime during the 2021 fiscal year, but, due to delays related to the COVID pandemic, the opening had to be postponed.
According to a post from Business Insider, “Guests will enjoy a world where everything looks like it’s made of toys” at the new hotel, and from the looks of things, they do mean EVERYTHING. If you want to watch TV in your hotel room, you’ll do so by watching the Etch-a-Sketch, for example.

The lobby of the hotel is a vibrant display of brilliant colors with a floor inspired by jigsaw puzzles and a ceiling that’s made to look like a board game.
The all-new Disney Resort Hotel will also feature Lotso Garden Cafe. We understand that both a breakfast and dinner buffet will be offered at the cafe. Per Tokyo Disney Resort’s website, “dining at Lotso Garden Cafe is only available for Guests staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel. Guests staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel can use the restaurant from breakfast on check-in date up to dinner on check out date.”
The hotel will also house two separate shops or stores. Gift Planet will be Guests’ place to go for Disney merchandise exclusive to Tokyo Disney Resort and to the Toy Story Hotel. Shop Together, the second store, will sell items and sundries, like diapers, baby items, candy, soft drinks and more, aimed at offering convenience to Guests.
The Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel will also feature Toy Friends Square, a courtyard area Guests can access from the lobby of the hotel, that features Toy Story character statues like Sheriff Woody, Bo Peep, and others. Slinky Dog Park is the plaza area at the entrance to the hotel. It will feature a board game inspired by Slinky himself, and will have statues of Buzz Lightyear and Jessie.
We can’t wait for this Resort Hotel to open! Can you imagine all the fun in store for Guests when Andy’s gone?
