For the past several months, the Disney film that has been on everyone’s mind is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. As Disney’s first animated feature film, Snow White is significant to fans as well as to the history of cinema in general.
For many fans, the original Snow White is practically sacred. That is why when it was revealed that a live-action remake of the film would be happening, many fans were less than thrilled. To make things worse, the film’s lead, Rachel Zegler, caused outrage amongst the public due to her comments about the film and the role.
For those who are not thrilled about the current state of the Disney remake, do not fear! Another remake of the film is coming to screens worldwide, and this one is sure to please fans of the classic movie.
Fans Have Had Enough With Live-Action Remakes
For the past several years, Walt Disney Studios has been on a mission to complete live-action remakes of many of their original animated films. Cinderella, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast were among the many titles given the live-action treatment.
The remakes were initially very successful; many of them even surpassed the $1 billion dollar mark at the global box office. However, over time, many fans began to feel overwhelmed by the amount of remakes being produced. The support of these films seemed to deteriorate over time, with fans not begging Disney for original stories. The recent remake of The Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey, failed to make any significant waves despite millions spent on marketing.
Excitement over the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remake was already pretty low, but that support became nearly nonexistent after some behind-the-scenes photos showed just how much of the film’s story had been changed.
In addition to these changes, the comments of the film’s lead, Rachel Zegler, caused concern of its own. Rachel Zegler, who rose to fame after starring in West Side Story, is set to star opposite Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
The Remake We All Asked for
However, what many fans may not know is that another Snow White remake is heading towards TV. Unlike the live-action version, this one is sure to please fans of the original film.
A new 4K digital restoration of the original Snow White animated feature will be arriving on Disney+ this month. The restored film looks absolutely magical, and it really is more vibrant than ever. Instead of remaking a classic story, this version will just be a restored version of the original.

It was announced earlier today that the film will be available for viewing on Disney+ on October 16. This year, Disney has announced that a plethora of restored films would be making their way to the streaming platform. All of these films are happening as part of Disney’s 100-anniversary celebration at the Parks. All year long, fans can expect to celebrate and experience many of the films and movies we hold dear.
