Most EPCOT fireworks packages have the same flaw. You eat, then you leave the table to go watch.
Luminous: The Symphony of Us plays over World Showcase Lagoon. The show is built around the water, so the view depends entirely on having open sightlines across it. A restaurant without them can sell you dinner and a viewing spot, but those are two separate things in two separate places.
This new one is not that.
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in the Japan Pavilion is now booking a fireworks dining package. Japan sits on the eastern edge of the promenade with elevation and open water in front of it. Guests dine with World Showcase Lagoon views and watch Luminous as part of the experience.
The Meal
Curated, not à la carte.
You get an appetizer, traditional sashimi, an extensive sushi selection, and exclusive desserts and beverages available only with this package.
That last bit counts. You are not just paying extra for food you could order on any other night.
The Timing
Luminous runs at 9 p.m.
Check-in is 60 minutes before the show, so roughly 8 p.m. The dining experience continues through the fireworks.
Worth reading twice: the show may be rescheduled or canceled on rare occasions, and it is not guaranteed as part of the package. Standard language, but this is a lot of money riding on one evening.
The Price
- Ages 10 and up: $120 plus tax and gratuity, $149.50 total
- Ages 3 to 9: $60 plus tax and gratuity, $74.70 total
Credit where it is due, Disney is publishing the all-in numbers instead of burying them. $149.50 is what hits your card.
For comparison, Shiki-Sai’s regular dinner entrées fall within Disney’s $15 to $34.99 per-adult range. This sits well above that.
Two adults and two kids? Around $448 before anything else. Disney is not hiding that this is a splurge.
Booking It
Reservations are open online through the Walt Disney World dining site.
Normal cancellation and modification rules apply. Your card gets charged a per-person fee for a no-show or a late cancellation. Details show up during booking and in your confirmation email.
Valid EPCOT admission required. A theme park reservation may be required depending on ticket type, and a dining reservation does not get you into the park.
About Shiki-Sai
Not a new restaurant. Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya replaced Tokyo Dining in the Japan pavilion back in 2023.
It is a casual, à la carte sushi bar and grill themed around Japan’s seasons and festivals, with sushi made behind the counter for you to watch.
The standard menu runs izakaya-style. Skewers, tempura, sushi rolls, and okonomiyaki. There is also seasonal programming tied to Japanese festivals, with a cultural representative from Japan walking guests through each one. Tanabata in summer, moon-viewing dumplings in autumn.
Regular hours are lunch from 12 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. and dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Why It Is Worth Noting
Japan has always been a popular Luminous viewing area, which means the promenade there fills up long before showtime.
This package removes the worst part of that. No claiming a rail spot at 8 p.m. and defending it for an hour.
Is not standing worth $149.50? That is your call.
But with Food & Wine now underway and the promenade about to get significantly busier, plenty of guests will say yes.
