Dinner with a fireworks view sounds like a pretty good way to finish an EPCOT day.
Disney World is making that possible with a new dining package coming to the Japan Pavilion, though families may want to check the price before adding it to their vacation plans.
The Shiki-Sai Fireworks Dining Package is coming to Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, combining a Japanese meal with views of Luminous: The Symphony of Us.
Reservations will open August 27.
Shiki-Sai Will Offer a Luminous Dining Package
EPCOT guests don’t have to pay extra to watch Luminous. The nighttime spectacular takes place over World Showcase Lagoon and can be seen from numerous locations around World Showcase.
However, finding the view you want can sometimes require getting into position before the show begins.
That’s where Disney’s newest package comes in.
Shiki-Sai sits in the Japan Pavilion with views toward World Showcase Lagoon. Guests booking the new experience will be able to have dinner while also making the restaurant their destination for the nighttime show.
Luminous combines fireworks, fountains, music, and lighting across World Showcase Lagoon, making the surrounding pavilions an important part of the viewing experience.
With Shiki-Sai, Disney is giving guests another way to watch without making dinner and fireworks two separate stops.
This Isn’t Just a Regular Dinner Reservation
Disney is also putting together a menu specifically for guests purchasing the fireworks package.
The meal will start with an appetizer and include traditional sashimi along with an extensive sushi selection.
Disney is also adding an exclusive dessert and beverages available specifically with the package.
That means guests are paying for more than a reserved table near the lagoon. Disney is building the meal itself around the premium experience.
Whether that makes the price worthwhile will depend heavily on the guest.
Someone who already wants to eat at Shiki-Sai and watch Luminous afterward could find plenty of appeal in combining the two. A guest primarily interested in fireworks may decide one of World Showcase’s regular viewing areas makes more sense.
Expect a Premium Price
Disney isn’t positioning this as a budget-friendly EPCOT dinner.
Adults will pay $120 before tax and gratuity. The final listed cost with tax and gratuity included is $149.50 per person.
Children cost $60, increasing to $74.70 after tax and gratuity.
Those numbers become much more noticeable when multiplied across an entire family.
Two adults would spend $299. Add two children, and the total reaches $448.40.
For nearly $450, a family of four will have to decide whether the food and convenient viewing location provide enough value.
The good news for guests who don’t want to spend that much is that purchasing the package isn’t necessary to experience Luminous.
Guests can still watch the nighttime spectacular from around World Showcase Lagoon as part of their EPCOT visit.
Booking Opens Soon
Disney strongly recommends advance reservations for the new package.
Same-day reservations may be offered on a limited basis when space remains available, but guests shouldn’t count on walking into Shiki-Sai and finding an opening.
Reservations begin August 27 through the restaurant’s dining page.
The package gives Disney World visitors another choice as they plan their EPCOT evenings, particularly for guests who enjoy sushi or want to celebrate a special occasion.
The biggest question will be whether guests see enough value in spending nearly $150 per adult.
For those who do, Shiki-Sai will soon offer dinner, exclusive menu items, and Luminous views all in the same reservation.
