This is massive news for families planning their next Disney theme park vacation.
For millions of people all around the world, there is no vacation quite as magnificent as a Disney Park vacation. Stepping into Disney means escaping the trials of the everyday world in favor of a magical, immersive environment where happiness and pixie dust can be found at every corner. Disney has long been known as the ultimate destination for families wishing to experience unforgettable adventures and unbelievable moments.
However, the enchantment of Disney does come at a price. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback for many families is the high Disney ticket price they must pay to experience a theme park vacation. To make things worse, the prices have continued to escalate year after year due to inflation. However, Disney’s newest ticket price announcement has just changed that.
New Ticket Prices Bring Us Back to The “Old Days” of Disney
Have you ever stumbled upon an old Disney ticket stub and thought, “Wow, I wish Disney still cost this much,”??? I certainly have.
On July 17, 1955, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened with tickets costing only $1. Walt Disney himself envisioned Disney to be a place that all families could afford to go to; it wasn’t meant to be elitist or extremely expensive.
Over the years, Disney ticket prices have steadily increased at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. In 1985, a Disneyland ticket cost $16.50. In 1995, a surge in popularity bumped the price up to $31. In 2005, Disney shocked fans by increasing the ticket price to $56 a day, but regardless, the people kept on coming.

Now, a one-day Park ticket to visit Disneyland Park costs between $104 and $179 for adults and $98 to $169 for children. This price is far from the $1 a day that Walt Disney first implemented, and it also makes Disney much less accessible for Guests, especially parents with large families.
Why Do Children Cost So Much?
The fact that children’s Park tickets cost so much is a significant deterrent for many families who would otherwise visit the Parks. Large families struggle to justify paying such high prices for their children, and many believe that the price of tickets should not be so high.
Now, the wishes of those people may have just come true.
Disneyland Resort has just announced a new offer for children’s Disney tickets that is a truly spectacular deal. The new offer works on 1, 2, or three-day tickets between January 8 and March 10, with no blackout dates. Within that time frame, families can buy a children’s ticket to Disneyland Resort for only $50, a far cry from the $150+ they usually can expect to pay. Sales for these tickets will begin on October 24, 2023.
It is incredible to see Disney make the Parks more affordable for families once again; these ticket prices genuinely do seem like something Walt Disney would approve of. In the complicated world we live in, children whose parents otherwise wouldn’t be able to justify the price will be able to experience the magic of Disney. That is news to celebrate!
