If you’ve never heard of Dapper Day at Walt Disney World, do yourself a favor and search it on Instagram right now. Dapper Day spring 2022 at Walt Disney World was held on April 30 and May 1. This event provides an opportunity for fashion-forward Disney fans to Disney bound in vintage clothing or to just go all out with their favorite vintage looks and show off their style in the Disney Parks. Vintage 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s attire are some of the common eras represented in the dress of Disney Guests on Dapper Day. This event draws a huge crowd each year, and it’s fun to see, even if you are not dressing up and joining the event.

Our first piece of merchandise this month is inspired by Dapper Day and those Main Street U.S.A.-based studs, the Dapper Dans. For anyone that does not know,  the Dapper Dans are an old-school barbershop quartet that performs on Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom. ShopDisney is selling a women’s dress inspired by this classic group. The dress is a beautifully colorful, striped, sleeveless sundress reminiscent of decades past. The V-neck neckline and gathered skirt paired with the vibrant colors of the Dapper Dans suits create a look so much like the dresses you see in photos of Guests visiting the Parks during the early days of Disneyland.

This multicolor dress is absolutely beautiful and comes in sizes XS to 3X. You will feel like a vintage throwback beauty in this $128 dress. Even better, vibrant green, yellow, blue, pink, and purple stripes pattern the dress with adorable barbershop quartet hats and musical notes scattered across the dress. Talk about an adorable dress to wear to Dapper Day, around the parks or in normal life back home, we love this dress.

Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Geometric Starbucks Tumbler with Straw

Sure, this next item continues my obsession with mugs and tumblers, but for good reason. This beautiful royal blue Starbucks Tumbler is emblazoned with the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Seal and is the perfect iced coffee cup to add some Disney magic to your desk. This cold beverage mug is covered with a raised geometric design and features a screw-on lid. The molded straw has a ring at the bottom, so it won’t fall out of the tumbler, and this large tumbler holds 24 ounces. For those of us that like our coffee strong and abundant, the ample size is good news.

This acrylic tumbler is not dishwasher and microwave safe, and you should handwash it only to preserve the bright finish. I’m definitely not passing up this part of the Starbucks Collection that was developed exclusively for Disney Parks and celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. This tumbler is beautiful but pricey, coming in at $49.99.

Turning Red Noodle Bowl Set

Disney Pixar’s Turning Red was a hotly debated movie in 2022. I happen to love the story of Mei’s journey to find herself while learning more about her mom and embracing her authentic self. So naturally, I was delighted to see this adorable noodle bowl set that features Mei as her Red Panda Self. This set includes two bowls. A large purple bowl on the bottom is emblazoned with adorable icons that film lovers will be familiar with. Think… a burned cd, cartoon hearts, a calculator, a boombox, and even Mei’s beloved Tamagotchi. The purple bowl is topped with an upside-down adorable Mei Red Panda bowl, complete with those precious white ears. The purple bowl at the bottom of the set holds 27 ounces, whereas the red bowl holds 21 ounces. The set is $29.99 and is perfect to add a bit of Disney Pixar love to your kitchen and to serve delicious noodle dishes in your home.

The Main Street Electrical Parade 50th Anniversary Color-Changing Mug

True, some of us have mixed feelings about the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland. However, there are plenty of Disney fans that are losing their minds and excitement over the return of this classic parade. Regardless of what side of the fence you are on, you have to admit commemorative merchandise is pretty cool. Color-changing commemorative merchandise? Well, that’s super cool. I’ve been a fan of color-changing Disney mugs since purchasing the color-changing Ink and Paint coffee mug back in 2017.

But this color-changing mug pays homage to the 50th Anniversary of the Main Street Electrical Parade and rings up at $19.99. Iconic floats like Captain Hook’s Ship, Pete’s Dragon, Mickey’s locomotive, and of course Alice perched atop a giant mushroom are all featured on this mug. When you add hot liquid to the mug, the real magic begins as the mug changes color to reveal a different scene.

It could also be used as a bedside water carafe in a guestroom. This beautiful piece can be enjoyed even when it is not in use, as the sleek and wintery look makes it a perfect addition to the holiday table space. As a 90s girl, I love merchandise that channels The Little Mermaid. As an accessory and shopping fan, I love the Bauble Bar brand. Bauble Bar creates adorable jewelry that ranges from adorable and understated to bold and fun. The Bauble Bar Target collaboration has released some of my favorite fun jewelry to wear in the Disney Parks. So, as you might imagine, I was super excited to see this brand design The Little Mermaid headband.

Think adorable Minnie Ear style headband but with gold shiny seashells. The classic purple and green Ariel color combo is displayed with silky bows that are stacked and cinched in the middle with a shiny pearl. Talk about the perfect finishing touch for an Ariel Disney bound? These ears/shells are a must-have for all fans of the movie The Little Mermaid.

About Katie Chapman

Hey There! I am a Georgia native with a passion for writing, traveling, cooking, decorating, pugs and of course all things Disney. Growing up in South Georgia just a few hours from Walt Disney World made for a magical childhood. Some of my best memories were made on Main Street U.S.A. with my sister watching SpectroMagic nighttime parade or beside my grandparents, parents and extended family at Chef Mickey’s celebrating on a family vacation. Epcot was my favorite park from a young age and I credit it with my interest in and love for international travel. As a kid I loved meeting characters and watching films around World Showcase and could spend hours exploring each of the countries in Epcot. These days, my husband and I get away to explore a new country whenever we can and even incorporate trips to The Disney Store and Disney Parks around the world in our travels. One of our travel goals is to visit every Disney Park in the world. I love writing about Disney restaurants, park tips, Disney outfit inspiration and Disney history. Pocahontas is my favorite Disney Princess (90s kid here!) but Mr. Toad is my spirit animal. When I’m not at Disney I’m reading about park history, watching Disney documentaries and shopping vintage Disney merch for park outfits. I never pass up a reservation to Ohana, an empty seat on Living with the Land or a Violet Sake.
