Ferry Crash Results in Another Disney Lawsuit
The experience of riding the Magic Kingdom Ferry is not just about getting from point A to point B; it’s a leisurely voyage filled with enchanting views and a sense of anticipation for the adventures that await at the Magic Kingdom. The gentle lapping of the water against the ferry’s hull, coupled with the refreshing breeze that sweeps through the open decks, creates a soothing and immersive atmosphere for guests.
While that may be the experience for most guests, that was certainly not the case for one man who rode the Magic Kingdom ferry last year. Justin Tripp was vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort when he decided to take the Richard F. Irvine ferry over to Magic Kingdom Park. Once aboard the ferry, Tripp noticed that the boat seemed to be overcrowded.

Upon docking at Magic Kingdom’s ferry dock, Tripp alleged that the ferry boat did not slow down. The lawsuit says;
“As the ferry approached the docking area of the Magic Kingdom, the ferry did not slow down. “The ferry struck the boat (dock) at an unsafe and high rate of speed, causing passengers to be thrown about. The ferry and dock sustained visible damage during the allision or crash of the ferry into the Disney dock.”
Tripp alleges that there was no warning before the ferry hit the dock. As a result, he and the other passengers were thrown about. Tripp claims the crash caused him to hit his head and neck on a steel pillar and fall into a trash can on board. Because of these injuries, Tripp seeks damages of $50,000+.
