Grab your friends and family and head on over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Amidst exciting rides such as Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage, the Walt Disney World Resort Park is the perfect place for slowing down and taking in the beautiful surroundings. And what better way to relax than by enjoying a meal at Tiffins!
While there are a plethora of delicious dining options at Disney’s Animal Kingdom such as Satu’li Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Tusker House, one of our very favorite restaurants is often forgotten. That’s right, Tiffins Restaurant!
Tiffins is a table-service restaurant open for lunch and dinner daily, nestled in the Discovery Island portion of the Disney Park near Pandora World of Avatar’s entrance. While its neighboring Nomad Lounge has seemed to only grow in popularity, Tiffins has remained quiet making it an easier restaurant to snag a reservation or walk-up mid-day for.
We recently enjoyed lunch at Tiffins are were reminded just how fantastic this restaurant really is!

We arrived a little early for our lunch reservation but the hostess was able to seat us prior to our reservation. When we entered the restaurant it was almost empty which gave us the opportunity to take in the stunning interior which includes three dining rooms honoring the spirit of Africa, Asia, and some of the world’s most exotic animals.
The artwork on the walls in the large room we were seated in is made from recycled materials and filled with gorgeous pops of color.
Our server was fantastic. She describe the artwork on the wall and guided us through the menu. With such a great menu, it was a tough choice, but we started with fantastic beverages including Jenn’s Tattoo (Ketel One Vodka, Watermelon, Hibiscus, and Lime Juice) and Green Shimmering Margarita (Casamigos Reposado Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, Bols Blue Curaçao, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, and Simple Syrup).
The server then brought out special pomegranate bread. It was a unique taste and despite the small size of the bread, it did the trick in keeping us occupied with its unique flavor!
The appetizer we selected was probably one of the best bites we’ve ever had on Walt Disney World property. We ordered the Taco appetizer which included two plant-based tinga tacos with avocado, plant-based cheese, with corn tortilla. We must say that we aren’t usually huge fans of plant-based choices but these we AMAZING and tasted like shredded beef tacos.
For the entree, we drooled over the Butter Chicken which includes chickpea-rice croquette, English peas, cauliflower, and pickled onion. While the dish may look and sound like random colorful items put together… all of the flavors blended deliciously!
We didn’t want to stop but wow, we were FULL after the drinks, tacos, and chicken! It was a perfect lunch to get away from the crowds and enjoy some air conditioning while we filled up with incredible food.
We’d have to say the only negative is that within the large room we were seated, whenever someone came in to dine, the hostess would seat the next party right next to the other Guests, despite several empty tables throughout the restaurant. Our meal went from intimate to feeling like we were dining with new friends.
Overall, we’ll definitely be dining at Tiffins on the next Walt Disney World vacation! It was an exceptional meal and the service was outstanding. The price tag is higher with more of a fine dining cost, but we feel the money is well worth the experience.
