Loose Roller Coaster Screw Falls at Theme Park; Narrowly Missing Guests
Europa-Park’s latest star attraction, the Voltron Nevera roller coaster, is facing an unexpected shutdown just months after its grand opening. The reason for the closure? A screw reportedly came loose from the track’s gears, leading to safety concerns. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, left park visitors in shock and raised questions about the safety of the park’s newest prestige project.

Witnesses Shocked by Incident
Timo W., a 31-year-old visitor, was enjoying his day at the park with colleagues when the unsettling event took place. In an interview with Blick Newspaper, Timo shared his frightening theme park experience.
“We were all sitting together at a food stand just a few meters from the ride when there was a loud bang. Of course we were all shocked and looked around.”
The source of the noise became clear when they saw a large screw fly through the air before landing in the Voltron Nevera’s basin. Tim added:
“The whole thing happened just ten meters away from us. It’s unimaginable what would have happened if the screw had flown into a crowd of people.”
As a whole, this situation was truly terrifying for guests of the theme park. The potential injuries could have been devastating.

Immediate Safety Precautions
Europa-Park management acted quickly, deciding to shut down the Voltron Nevera as a precaution. The roller coaster, which debuted earlier this year at the theme park in Germany, boasts a track length of 1,385 meters and a record-breaking steep start. As the park’s newest and most talked-about ride, it has been a major draw for thrill-seekers since the start of the summer season.
This mechanical failure has raised concerns not only about the Voltron Nevera but also about the rigorous testing and maintenance processes that the park’s attractions undergo. This is not the only incident that has occurred at the park, as just last year, a major fire erupted in the park.
Europa-Park is known for its high standards of safety, and the shutdown is expected to allow engineers to thoroughly inspect the ride and prevent any further issues.

What’s Next for the Voltron Nevera?
This shocking situation is truly not something that most theme park visitors see on a regular day in the park. Thankfully, the team at Europa-Park was able to assess the issue and fix the roller coaster in a timely manner. A spokeswoman for the park told Blick:
“It was a technical defect, Voltron Nevera is running normally again.”
For now, this attraction will continue to operate as normal. Would you ride this roller coaster?
