For almost thirty years, guests have been able to take their love of Disney outside the theme parks, outside their homes, and onto the high seas with the Disney Cruise Line. Disney launched its first cruise ship in 1998 with the sailing of the Disney Magic. Since then, four more ships have been added to the impressive fleet — Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish.
Of course, Disney doesn’t want to stop there. Three more ships — Disney Treasure, Disney Adventure, and Disney Destiny — are set to sail in the coming years.

What’s really exciting is that you won’t have to wait long to sail on the three newest ships. The Disney Treasure will set off on its maiden voyage this December, and the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny are both set to take to the high seas in 2025!
Disney is slowing sharing new details about what guests can expect aboard these newest cruise ships, and all we can say is WOW! The Disney Destiny will be unlike anything Disney has done before. The ship will focus on heroes vs. villains, meaning guests will see their fair share of both during their cruise.
Disney is known for its truly memorable dining experiences, and Disney Destiny will be no exception. Disney recently announced that one of its most iconic animated films will be brought to life onboard the ship. In a brand-new experience, guests will be able to experience the magic of The Lion King (1994) with Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King.
The enchanting venue will be inspired by the African savanna, with unique depictions of animals and nature brought to life through lighting and special effects. The back wall will be lined with large windows that transform from stunning sunrises to enchanting sunsets throughout the meal, while the center of the restaurant will have tiered risers that mimic the look of African drums.
Not only is The Lion King one of Disney’s most memorable animated films, but it is also one of the most successful Broadway plays in history. So, how exciting is it that guests will be able to experience a Broadway-caliber production while dining on some truly delicious dishes? Who doesn’t want to dance along to “Hakuna Matata” while munching on mouthwatering meals?
According to Disney, many of the film’s hit songs will be included during the meal.
A colorful ensemble of live musicians and storytellers will take the stage to present a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack as you dine. During special intervals throughout the meal, the band and performers will revisit the iconic songs from “The Lion King” using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters. Audiences will delight in:
- Productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata;”
- A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” a fun take that highlights the hero-villain dynamic of the story;
- An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with a beautiful interpretive dance; and
- A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show.
In addition to the Pride Lands feast, the Disney Destiny will also feature a brand-new confectionery themed after the Pixar movie The Incredibles (2004) called Edna Á La Mode Sweets. There will also be two walk-up cafés where guests can enjoy food on the go. Café Megara will be themed after Disney’s Hercules (1997), and Café Merida will be themed after Pixar’s Brave (2012).
Of course, Disney could never forget about the guest rooms onboard Disney Destiny. We don’t have too many details on the staterooms, but we do know that one of the suites will also have a Hercules theme, and another will have an Incredibles theme. The concierge level will feature exclusive amenities, including a lounge and a private sun deck.

We do not know the exact date Disney Destiny will have its maiden voyage, but we do know that it is slated to happen in December 2025. The ship will set sail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It will sail to the Bahamas and give guests the chance to visit Disney’s newest private island Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Pointe.
