On May 27, Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort will have the opportunity to ride Disney’s newest roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Cosmic Rewind will be the first roller coaster at EPCOT and will also be the first Disney roller coaster to feature an exciting reverse launch. The ride will be located in the World Discovery building that was once home to Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Select Guests have been able to experience the ride before it opened, but, since it is a soft opening, no Lightning Lane has been available.
When the ride officially opens on the 27, there will be no standby queue. Guests will only have the option to try to join the free, virtual queue or pay for Lightning Lane access. Spectrum News Reporter, Ashley Carter, shared what it will cost Guests to purchase Lightning Lane access for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for the first week that the attraction is open.
UPDATE: At launch, the Individual Lightning Lane pricing for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will range between $14 and $17 plus tax, depending on day of visit. On May 27-30, the price will be $17 plus tax. On May 31-June 2, the price will be $14 plus tax.

If you are going to be visiting Walt Disney World during opening weekend and are thinking of purchasing Lightning Lane, it is important to note that Lightning Lane access for popular rides can sell out in a matter of minutes. Individual attraction selection purchases start at 7 a.m. each day, so you definitely need to be on your My Disney Experience app before that if you want the chance to purchase.
If you are staying at a deluxe Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you will have an extra chance to purchase Lightning Lane access to Cosmic Rewind. Select theme parks are open for a couple of extra hours on select nights for deluxe Resort Guests. One of the Parks that stays open late is EPCOT. Deluxe Disney Resort Guests will be able to purchase individual Lightning Lane entry through Disney Genie for the extended evening hours.
