Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a stunning Deluxe Disney Resort found only minutes from Disney’s Animal Kingdom where Guests can relax and enjoy accommodations including live animal views, immersive architecture, and amazing dining options. The Disney Resort is also home to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village which offer the same beautiful accommodations, but with larger Guest rooms and amenities.

The flavors of Africa are also shared with Guests through cuisine at several popular restaurants with options including everything from quick-service locations to signature table service meals.

Boma – Flavors of Africa

Located just off of the main lobby at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is Boma – Flavors of Africa, a table service restaurant that is open daily for breakfast and dinner. The food at Boma – Flavors of Africa is served buffet-style, allowing Guests to sample a wide array of cuisine from over fifty different African countries as well as some American favorites.

The interior of Boma – Flavors of Africa features traditional vaulted thatched ceilings, large wooden beams and support posts, tall windows letting in tons of natural light with views of vegetation, and brightly colored booths and tables that Guests can cozy into. The overall feel of the interior is bright and inviting, and Guests will immediately feel at home for any meal.

Breakfast at Boma – Flavors of Africa features a lengthy buffet list that includes American favorites such as yogurt parfaits, pancakes, pastries, waffles, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, ham, and more as well as many African specialties. Guests will love sampling options with African flavors such as turkey bobotie, chakalaka, pap, and more.

Dinner at Boma – Flavors of Africa also features a large buffet where Guests can sample all-they-care-to-enjoy options that will leave them very satisfied. The menu for dinner features many more traditional African dishes that Guests can enjoy including options such as tabbouleh, sweet corn pudding, oak roast pork ribs, berbere-chickpea salad, peanut rice, Durban chicken, lamb bobotie, pita with hummus and coriander, Senagalase Yassa-style salmon, and more.

Sanaa

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas– Kidani Village Guests can enjoy another table service restaurant that features beautiful views of the savannahs and grazing animals just outside. Sanaa features a unique menu that combines African cooking styles with Indian flavors for incredible bites that Guests won’t soon forget. The restaurant is also unique in that it operates as a quick service location for breakfast, but a table service restaurant for lunch and dinner.

The interior of Sanaa is themed to feel like an East-Indian spice market with large rounded windows that look out at the savannah, colorful details that look like hand-made artifacts for sale, and towering branches of acacia trees overhead to emulate the feel of nature. The vibrant interior welcomes Guests at all meals and the views absolutely can’t be beat.

Quick service breakfast at Sanaa features menu entrée items including Eggs Benedict, Shahi Tuka French Toast, Enriching Grains and Fruit, Methi Paratha Sandwich, and Boere Breakfast with two eggs, African home fries, house-made boerewors sausage, bacon, and a coconut drop biscuit. There are also an assortment of grab-and-go option available including pastries, fresh fruit, parfaits, side, and fresh coffee options.

The lunch menu at Sanaa begins with several appetizer options including Samosas, a seasonal soup, and the Salad Sampler, but there is one appetizer option that is so popular, some Guests visit the location just to try it! The Indian-style Bread Service at Sanaa offers Guests the choice of five different types of bread such as traditional naan, paneer paratha, or onion kulcha that are served with nine different sauces and spreads including cucumber raita, mango chutney, red chile samba, and spicy jalapeno-lime pickle.

Lunch entrée options include the Sanaa Burger with spiced mustard, peppadew-goat cheese, and a side of chips, a light Quinoa Vegetable Tabbouleh Salad, traditional Tandoori Chicken, and Potjie Inspired which offers Guests several protein options like butter chicken or braised beef to pair with a plant-based option such as cilantro coconut vegetables. Dessert is also available at lunch with options like African Triple Chocolate Mousse, Kheer, and Serradura.

The dinner menu at Sanaa features many of the same options as lunch, with the addition of several exclusive choices. Guests who dine at Sanaa for dinner can also enjoy the Grilled New York Strip with roasted potatoes vinaigrette, harvest vegetables, and whiskey butter, the Sustainable Fish of the Day, or Africa-inspired Biryani with fragrant rice and seasonal vegetables and the option of adding chicken or shrimp.

Sanaa Lounge

Guests who would like to enjoy the cuisine and charm of Sanaa without committing to a full table service meal can head to the adjoining Sanaa Lounge which continues the theme of a spice market with low ceilings, cozy seating, and dark wooden accents paired perfectly with bright colored artwork and lighting.

In addition to the Indian-style Bread Service, Salad Sampler, and Samosas offered from the appetizer menu at Sanaa, Guests can also order up an array of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine at Sanaa Lounge. Some great options to choose from include the Smoked Turkey, Raspberry Mojito, Rum Swizzle, Blood Orange Margarita, Negroni, Moscow Mule, and Antioxidant Lemonade.

The Mara

The main quick service location for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is The Mara which is located just steps from the main lobby area. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the restaurant features a combination of American and African flavors as well as plenty of grab-and-go options.

The Mara is named after a river that flows through Kenya and Tanzania and the interior is themed to feel like the lush jungle areas that line the river with thick posts that look like ancient trees and branches stretching overhead. There are also large murals of various jungle and savannah animals that add a vibrant pop of color to the seating area of the quick service location.

Breakfast at The Mara includes entrée items such as Mickey Waffles, Steel-cut Oatmeal, Croissant Breakfast Sandwich, Bacon and Gruyere Quiche, French Toast Bread Pudding, and the Savanna Platter which features scrambled eggs, a waffle, potatoes, bacon, and sausage for a hearty start to the day. Guests can also enjoy grab-and-go options including fresh fruit, pastries, and yogurt as well as coffee options.

The Mara offers identical lunch and dinner menus for Guests to enjoy with several different menu categories to choose from. Flatbread options served include a Braai Chicken Flatbread and Cheese Flatbread, or Guests can opt for Sandwiches or Salads including a Tuna Salad Wrap, Ham and Cheddar Sandwich, Tamarind Pork Sandwich, or Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad.

There are also several heartier entrée options offered for lunch and dinner at The Mara including a Signature-blend Cheeseburger or Roasted Half-Chicken which is served with Herb-crushed potatoes and sweet corn succotash. Guests should also be sure to save room for the delicious Zebra Domes which coat chocolate mousse and Amarula Cream Liqueur with white chocolate and chocolate shavings for a unique dessert bite.

Victoria Falls Lounge

Another great lounge option at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Victoria Falls Lounge which is located right next to Boma – Flavors of Africa and overlooks the restaurant. The lounge features a cozy and intimate interior that features dark wooden tables and chairs that are accented by large abstract pillars with swirling bright colors. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor patio area with a bonfire and more seating.

Victoria Falls Lounge features many wine options from South Africa, specialty cocktails, beer, and more in addition to a limited menu of Lounge Fare options that are available after five each evening. Guests can opt for Marinated Olives with Almonds, Cape Town Slap Chips with fried potatoes, roasted pearl onions, heirloom tomatoes, arugula, apricots, sherry vinaigrette, and blue cheese, Goat Cheese Dip with assorted breads and crackers, or the hearty Braai Burger and Seasoned Fries with  Vulcan spice, Safari Amber Beer cheese, and braised beef marmalade.

Maji Pool Bar

The final dining location can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village and offers up delicious poolside cocktails and beverages as well as several food options. The Maji Pool Bar is an open-air location with a thatched bar, welcoming bar area, and extended outdoor patio where Guests can take in the beautiful views of the surrounding Disney Resort area.

In addition to specialty cocktails, beer, and wine, Guests who stop at Maji Pool Bar can enjoy entrée options such as Lemon-Caper-Tuna Salad, Kenya Coffee Barbecue Sandwich, Berbere Black-eyed Pea Harvest Salad, Turkey Sandwich, All-Beef Hot Dog with Chili and cheese, and Caesar Salad with Tandoori Chicken. There are also several snack and dessert items including a Warm Pretzel with Cheese Sauce, Crunchy Vegetable Slaw, assorted chips, cupcakes, and other pastries.
