Another ‘Once Upon a Time’ Cast Member Ready for Reboot!

For many Once Upon a Time fans, the series’ bittersweet conclusion in 2018 left a void. The show, which ran for seven seasons, captivated audiences by blending beloved fairy tales with modern twists and offering up an expansive world of magic, love, and treachery. Characters from Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan, and Frozen made appearances, while others like the Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin found new depths within the stories they inhabited.

Yet, even after the last episode aired, the magic of Once Upon a Time remained in the hearts of fans.

As time has passed, there’s been talk of reboots and reimaginings across the entertainment world, particularly with shows that cultivated a dedicated fanbase. From DuckTales to Phineas and Ferb, nostalgia for childhood favorites is everywhere.

In fact, the resurgence of reboots and live-action adaptations has given old franchises a fresh life, and it’s no surprise that Once Upon a Time fans are hoping for something similar.

Lana Parrilla Reflects on the Show’s Impact

Among those who have spoken up about the possibility of a Once Upon a Time reboot is Lana Parrilla, who famously portrayed Regina Mills, also known as the Evil Queen. The character became iconic in her own right, bringing a nuanced portrayal of one of Disney’s most notorious villains.

Parrilla has always had a special connection with the show, so when she expressed interest in revisiting her role, it caught the attention of fans everywhere.

In an interview on the I’ve Never Said This Before podcast, Parrilla didn’t mince words when discussing her feelings about a potential reboot.

“I would like to make that happen. If there was a reboot, I’m just saying I would be interested.”

“I’ve always had mixed feelings about it because the series ran for so long,” she admits. “I was like, I don’t know what more we can tell, these characters have been so deeply fleshed out. But there’s always more stories. And that character has a huge piece of my heart, so I would be open to it, for sure.”

The Reboot Rumors and Other Stars’ Involvement

Interestingly, Parrilla isn’t the only one from the Once Upon a Time cast who has hinted at the possibility of returning. Just a few months ago, Ginnifer Goodwin, who played Snow White, revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that she, too, had heard about the reboot rumors and expressed her interest.

“I hear these rumors as well [about a reboot], and I am available if they [want to do that]. I mean, I live around the corner from the creator, so I’m sure I’ll hear things.”

“I’d love to go back. My whole life is kind of built around it. I mean, I married Prince Charming. His babies are my babies. If they want to do it, I’ll be there.”

While Once Upon a Time may have wrapped up its story years ago, the passion for the show hasn’t waned. Other actors, such as Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) and Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), have also expressed interest in revisiting their beloved roles.

Morrison even suggested she might return in a different capacity, as a behind-the-scenes contributor rather than an actress.

Parrilla on How Once Upon a Time Changed Lives

For Parrilla, the emotional connection with Once Upon a Time goes beyond the costumes and scripts. She credits the series with teaching her valuable lessons and shaping her career in unexpected ways.

Reflecting on the show’s legacy, she mentioned how much she’s been affected by the impact the show has had on its fans.

“What I forgot about over the years is how great the writing is. I mean, I know the writing is great; it has to start with that for a show to be successful. But I forgot how many quotes were great in it and how they were like more lessons for people. People grew from these characters and their lives changed, and that was something I don’t think I would’ve understood had I not been meeting the fans over the years like I do.

“I would go back to Adam [Horowitz] and Eddie [Kitsis] and say, ‘Do you guys realize what you’ve done? It’s changed lives. That’s the first time I’ve ever been a part of something that magical. It will always hold a dear place in my heart. Once Upon a Time is a very special show.”

As of now, Disney and ABC have remained tight-lipped about the future of Once Upon a Time. However, the rising number of reboots and the continued nostalgia surrounding the show make the possibility of a return seem more likely than ever.

Whether the stars of the series will be reunited for a full-blown revival or an entirely new chapter remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—fans aren’t ready to say goodbye to Storybrooke just yet.
