Johnny Depp Responds to Disturbing Abuse Allegations
In 2018, fans around the world were shocked when an OpEd article was released by Aquaman (2018) star, Amber Heard. In the article, Heard said that she was the victim of domestic violence. Although she did not name her abuser, it was clear that it was during the time she was married to Pirates of the Caribbean star, Johnny Depp. Heard accused Depp of a litany of disturbing abuses, including physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse.
The backlash against Depp was swift and unrelenting. In a matter of weeks, he went from one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors to being dropped by nearly everyone. This included Disney and Warner Bros., who dropped Depp from their Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts franchises, respectively.
Depp sued Heard for $50 million for defamation of character, and Heard countersued for $100 million, also for defamation. The trial — which took place in Virginia — lasted six weeks and ended with Depp being awarded more than $10 million in damages. Heard, on the other hand, was awarded just $2 million.

Many fans thought that the jury siding with Depp meant that he was innocent of all the charges against him. In fact, many people turned against Amber Heard during the trial and accused her of lying about everything she said about her ex-husband.
But one actress is backing up Heard’s claims that Depp is a verbally abusive person.

In 2001, Johnny Depp starred alongside Penélope Cruz in the movie, Blow (2001). Depp played George Jung, one of the most notorious cocaine importers. The film also starred actress Lola Glaudini as Rada, and it was Glaudini’s first big film. And she claimed that Johnny Depp made it a memorable experience, but in the worst way possible.
In a recent episode of the podcast, Powerful Truth Angels, Glaudini claims that Depp screamed and cursed at her after she followed instructions given to her by the film’s director.
“I hear the cue, and I go haha, I do a big laugh or whatever. Johnny Depp, when they say cut, walks over to me, comes up to me, sticks his finger in my face and he goes, ‘Who the f*** do you think you are? Who the f*** do you think you are? Shut the f*** up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to f***ing say my lines and you’re f***ing pulling focus. You f***ing idiot. Oh, now, oh now it’s not so funny? Now you can shut up? Now you can f***ing shut the fuck up? The quiet that you are right now, that’s how you f***ing stay.’”
It was Glaudini’s first day on set, and she said that she had never even met Johnny Depp before.
Depp, however, denies the verbal abuse allegations. In a brief statement released to Deadline, a rep for Depp said that no one else remembered the incident the way Glaudini said it happened:
“Johnny always prioritizes good working relationships with cast and crew and this recounting differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set at the time.”

Glaudini said that Depp later approached her and gave her a “non-apology apology.” He claimed that he had been in his head, and committed to what he was doing, and asked her if they were “cool”. She also said that the film’s director, Ted Demme, who died in 2002, also never apologized to her, and just let it happen.
