The Next ‘James Bond’ Actor Has Been Revealed, Speaks Out on Landing 007 Role

Everyone is waiting to find out who will inherit the 007 designation from Daniel Craig, but the James Bond franchise has already introduced two new actors as the iconic MI6 spy.

Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) is already playing a younger version of the spy in 007 First Light (2026), the new video game from IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios. Released in May, the standalone third-person action-adventure reimagines Bond as a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman who is recruited into MI6, giving Gibson his own version of the character.

And now, Isaac Rouse (James Bond) has joined him. Rouse has been cast as the teenage Bond in Young Bond: SilverFin Part 1 (2026), the upcoming full-cast audio drama adaptation from Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications. Alongside Rouse, Charlotte McBurney co-stars as Wilder Lawless, voicing the character in the audio drama; however, no other cast members have been announced yet.

Based on Charlie Higson’s SilverFin (2005), the audio drama follows Bond during his school days at Eton. His first day leads to a new enemy before he becomes caught up in a dangerous mystery surrounding Loch SilverFin.

Those two new interpretations of Bond come at an unusually busy period for the franchise in general. Kim Sherwood’s Hurricane Room, Vaseem Khan’s The Man with the Golden Compass, Charlie Higson’s King Zero, and M. W. Craven’s James Bond and the Secret Agent Academy are all expanding the literary side of the franchise throughout 2026 and 2027.

Then, of course, there’s the movie reboot. Amazon MGM Studios is developing the next James Bond film with Denis Villeneuve (the Dune films) directing and Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) writing. It will follow Daniel Craig’s final outing, No Time to Die (2021); however, it will introduce yet another new version of 007 and mark the beginning of a new Bond continuity.

Who Is the New James Bond in Film?

That casting remains a secret, despite mounting reports that producers have already selected an actor. Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) is one of the names most closely associated with the rumors, but Amazon MGM has yet to announce the new cinematic 007. For now, Gibson and Rouse are already carrying Bond into the next era.

The first Young Bond: SilverFin episodes are scheduled to arrive in October 2026.
