Over the years, Disney has come out with some truly memorable movies, like Cinderella (1950), The Jungle Book (1967), Mary Poppins (1964), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Frozen (2013), Encanto (2021), and so many more. However, one of its most underrated movies might just be the 2007 film Enchanted, starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Susan Sarandon, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden.

Enchanted tells the story of Giselle, a young woman living in the animated kingdom of Andalasia. Giselle meets Prince Edward, and they immediately fall in love and plan to get married. Edward’s stepmother, Queen Narissa, does not want him to get married, so she tricks Giselle and sends her tumbling into the real world — where she lands in the middle of New York City.

Giselle is completely overwhelmed and terrified, but thankfully, she is saved by Robert, a disillusioned divorce attorney, and his young daughter Morgan. They take Giselle in and try to help her find her way home (although Robert thinks that she is nuts). In the end, Giselle learns that love is so much more than one meeting, while Robert learns that not all love stories end in divorce.

At the beginning of Enchanted, Robert is engaged to Nancy, who is played by Broadway star, Idina Menzel. Of course, the two break up when Robert realizes he has feelings for Giselle. But don’t feel too bad for Nancy! She meets Prince Edward and the sparks begin to fly. She even ends up running away with Edward to become the Queen of Andalasia.

It’s been 17 years since the film came out, but fans are still wondering how the heck Disney could cast a major Broadway star in a movie and then not give her a song to sing. Well, it turns out Menzel DID have a song, and Disney ended up cutting it!

And now, we finally have that song, and, let me tell you, it’s great! It makes us really wish that Disney had just decided to make the movie three minutes longer. Take a listen for yourself.

Fans were thrilled to finally hear this new song after so many years, but many were disappointed that Disney decided to cut it, especially when a Broadway star was singing it.

WHY WAS THIS NOT IN THE MOVIE?!

Disney, you cast a world-renowned Broadway star in your movie and you don’t even include her song in the final cut?? For shame!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved “Ever Ever After”, but I’m willing to bet many Disney fans felt cheated.

Others, however, felt that it made sense to cut the song from the film. Nancy was a lot like Robert, as she considered herself a realist. So, it might not make sense that she would burst into song.

It’s gorgeous, but I understand why they cut it. It doesn’t make sense why Nancy, a “modern” person, would burst into a song randomly.
(It makes her singing in the second movie as she’s now lived in the fairy tail world for a few years)

In 2022, Disney released the highly anticipated sequel to Enchanted, Disenchanted, with Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel all returning to their original roles. This time, Disney listened to fans, and Menzel sang in the movie. Unfortunately, the Enchanted sequel did not perform as well as the original, but many fans were still glad to see the return of characters they loved.

Do you think Disney should have left Idina Menzel’s song in Enchanted? Let us know in the comments!
