Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is an amazing spot for maybe an off day or a chill night. You do not need a theme park admission ticket to get in, and parking is free. Whether you’re looking for some great food or a night of shopping, Disney Springs has you covered. Here are some spots you may have missed at Disney Springs.
10. Disney’s Days of Christmas Store, Marketplace
Everyone knows at least one person who is obsessed with Christmas no matter what time of the year it is. Well, Disney Springs has the dream store for that person in your life. Disney’s Days of Christmas is an all Christmas store that is open year round. You can get that Christmas fix in the middle of the hot summer in Central Florida. From statues and ornaments to shirts and hats, it’s all Christmas and all Disney.
9. Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, The Landing
Disney Springs has plenty of different dining options and places to find delicious desserts. One that you may have missed is Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC. You will find many delicious desserts that are completely vegan, gluten-free, and kosher. Although they may be for special dietary restrictions people everywhere love them and you will not feel like you’re missing anything. You can have a variety of cupcakes, cakes, donuts, pineapple upside down cake, cookies and so much more. Everything is absolutely delicious.
8. Disney Pin Traders, Marketplace
Some lifelong Disney fans have a tradition and that is pin trading. There are special hard to find pins that you can collect, and there are also some that you may buy specifically to trade. Disney Pin Traders at Disney Springs is where you can trade with different cast members, plus there are pins you can purchase. This spot is a pin trader’s dream come true, you never know what you’ll find there.
7. Photo Spots, Various Locations Across Disney Springs
Make sure you have your camera out and ready because there are fantastic places to take photos with friends and family. From the giant LEGOS to fountains to Disney statues all around there are plenty of different scenic spots. There are also some beautiful spots over the water. These are even more magnificent around sunset. Central Florida has the most gorgeous sunsets, so you will probably be taking plenty of sunset photos.
6. Disney PhotoPass Studios, Marketplace
Many people walk right past this building and have no idea it’s even there. There is a spot that is a mini photoshoot waiting to happen. They have Disney backgrounds and also different opportunities to get some amazing family portraits. The best part is if you include Memory Maker with your ticket it is all included. They will scan your MagicBand and then your photos will appear in your app. It is a great way to save these memories that last a lifetime.
5. Dinner and a Movie, West Side
Did you know that there are two AMC movie theaters at Disney Springs? AMC Dine-In Disney Springs 24 Theaters is a great option if you are looking for a delicious meal and want to see the latest movie. There is also a regular AMC theater. They accept A-List, so if you have a membership that is a nice perk. Sometimes you want to just sit down and relax after the madness of the theme parks, and seeing a new movie can allow you to do just that.
4. Amphicar Tours, The Landing
It’s kind of hard to miss that car driving through the water, but did you know that you can actually go for a ride? The cost is $125 for three or four adults. It might be a splurge, but for some it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Think of the bragging rights you’ll have to your friends when you say you rode in a floating car on Disney property!
3. An Erupting Volcano, Marketplace
You might be in Central Florida, but you can watch a volcano erupt at Disney Springs. Over at Rainforest Cafe fire will light up the sky twice an hour. It’s really hard to miss, but make sure that you have your camera out to get that perfect shot. If you are in Marketplace you can get the best view. Weather permitting, it happens every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour.
2. Food Trucks, West Side
Food trucks are popular in many places, but that doesn’t mean you should skip the ones at Disney Springs. These are nothing to look past because there are some delicious options. 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck is perfect if you are looking for Mexican food. Hot Diggity Dogs has specialty hot dogs that will make your taste buds happy. Mac & Cheese; need we say more? This truck puts new twists on the classic dish. Order your whole meal from one truck, or mix and match so that you can try more dishes.
1. Live Music, Various Locations Across Disney Springs
If you’re looking to hear some incredible live music for free, Disney Springs is the right place. Disney hires artists from the Central Florida area that are going to wow you with their talents. Some of the music is background, and some will have you on your feet dancing. Make sure you add videos of the artists to Instagram and give them a like. They are pouring their hearts out on their stages, they are truly amazing.
