The spooky season feels incomplete without Michael Myers stalking the screen. However, with no new Halloween movies in theaters this year, fans are left wondering: what’s next for the iconic horror franchise? Halloween Ends (2022) concluded David Gordon Green’s trilogy, following Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills (2021). But despite grossing over $100 million worldwide on a $33 million budget, Ends left many fans disappointed, focusing more on Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) than Michael himself, which wasn’t the finale many had envisioned.
But for die-hard fans, all hope is not lost. Michael Myers is set to return in a new Halloween TV series, thanks to Trancas and Miramax, and it promises more movies to follow in a shared cinematic universe. While details are sparse and there’s no set release date, fans can rest assured that “The Shape” will be back to haunt screens soon enough.

Until then, fans can delve into the entire 13-film series, although, let’s be real—not every entry is a hit. Perhaps skip Season of the Witch, The Revenge of Michael Myers, The Curse of Michael Myers, and Rob Zombie’s divisive takes. However, if you’re craving fresh Myers content this October 31, there’s something new worth watching—and surprisingly, it’s not from a Hollywood studio.
Enter Halloween Stalks II, a fan-made sequel by writer-director Domnick Cousineau-Benoit. This online film continues the events of last year’s Halloween Stalks and it’s so good it could easily fit within the official franchise. The story centers around a mother and her young son, who finds his fears of the bogeyman disturbingly justified when Michael Myers himself arrives for some trick-or-treating.

After a brief removal from YouTube, the film has made a successful comeback. It features Samuel Racicot as the iconic masked stalker, with an intense game of cat and mouse ensnaring the mother and her son. The film’s haunting plot description teases: “When a ghostly figure shows up at their door late at night on Halloween, a mother and her young son are thrown into a cruel game of cat and mouse… the Boogeyman is real.”
Fan reaction has been enthusiastic; Halloween Stalks II has already racked up over 90,000 views on YouTube as of October 29. While fan films rarely reach the quality of their official counterparts, this one has managed to capture the spirit and chills that made the franchise so iconic. Watch the full film below:
But that’s not all for Halloween fans this season. In addition to the upcoming TV series and Halloween Stalks II, a new Halloween video game has arrived: “RetroRealms: Halloween” is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam. The game brings Halloween back to life with eerie landscapes and classic Michael Myers style, giving fans a chance to step into the fright-filled universe as The Shape himself.
So, while the big screen may be quiet this October 31, there’s still plenty to keep horror fans entertained. Between Halloween Stalks II, the retro-styled video game, and the anticipation of a full TV series, Michael Myers isn’t going anywhere. He’s just found a few new places to lurk—whether that’s in your game console, streaming online, or waiting in the shadows of an upcoming series.
