The pathway outside one of Magic Kingdom Park’s most beloved dining spots is getting a facelift, as Walt Disney World Resort pours new concrete near the Crystal Palace, just steps from Cinderella Castle.
Fresh Concrete Signals Progress Outside Crystal Palace
WDWNT reported on August 26 that Walt Disney World Resort had poured new concrete along a walkway outside the Crystal Palace, the Table-Service dining location situated near both Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A. Photos posted by the outlet capture the freshly laid concrete filling in the space.
This isn’t a sudden development. Walt Disney World Resort first sectioned off the area last month with rolling planters and construction walls, and Magic Kingdom Park guests watched as cast members cleared the land and installed a curb before this latest phase began. The newly poured concrete now fills in the ground within that curbed boundary.
A Possible Purpose Behind the Project
While Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t confirmed exactly what the expanded pavement is meant for, the added space near the Crystal Palace could serve a few practical purposes — whether giving waiting guests more room outside the popular restaurant or creating a designated area for stroller parking during mealtimes.
