Classic Mickey and Minnie Mouse Characters Will Not Spend the Holidays at Disneyland Resort
The Mickey and Minnie Mouse holiday looks guests have grown used to seeing are being retired at Disneyland Park this year, making way for a brand-new take on the pair’s Christmas wardrobe.
A Wardrobe Shakeup for the Holidays
Disneyland Resort laid out its full 2026 Christmas season plans on Wednesday, detailing what’s ahead for the Southern California Disney parks from November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027. Buried in the announcement was confirmation that Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s classic holiday outfits are being swapped out entirely, with new festive designs set to debut when guests meet the characters in Town Square at Disneyland Park.
Disneyland Resort released concept art previewing the new looks, though photos of the finished costumes haven’t been made public yet.
Familiar Faces Getting New Looks, Too
Mickey and Minnie won’t be the only characters shedding their old holiday attire. Disneyland Resort confirmed the pair’s “friends” are getting updated outfits as well, without specifying exactly which characters that includes. In years past, that group has typically included characters such as Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and sometimes Chip ‘n’ Dale and Clarabelle Cow.
Guests will see the completed costumes for the first time once the holiday season begins at Disneyland Park on November 13, 2026.

New character outfits are just one part of what’s coming to Disneyland Resort this Christmas. The season will also bring back fan favorites like “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” and the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks display over Sleeping Beauty Castle, in addition to seasonal ride overlays, seasonal food and drinks, holiday merchandise, and park-wide decorations.
Santa Claus is also on the move this year, relocating to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park after his previous spot at the Fantasyland Theatre was taken over by the Bluey’s Best Day Ever show.
