Disneyland Resort has officially detailed its 2026 Christmas plans, and while much of the seasonal magic returns as expected, guests will also notice several changes woven throughout Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, the Disney Resort hotels, and Downtown Disney. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year at the Happiest Place on Earth runs from November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027.
What’s Different at Disneyland Park
The signature 60-foot Christmas tree returns to Main Street, U.S.A., alongside a snow-capped Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up nightly with about 80,000 lights. But this year brings a notable shift in character encounters: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will debut brand-new outfits in Town Square, inspired by holiday travel and an alpine-gathering theme.
Santa Claus is on the move, too. He’s leaving his longtime Fantasyland Theatre location — now occupied by Bluey’s Best Day Ever — for a different spot in Mickey’s Toontown this year.
Familiar favorites remain part of the lineup, including “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” with reserved Plaza Inn dining package seating available, and the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks show over Sleeping Beauty Castle, set against a backdrop that includes “it’s a small world” Holiday and Rivers of America, complete with nightly snowfall across the park.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, themed to The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), has already taken over New Orleans Square, and “it’s a small world” Holiday returns decked out in roughly 400,000 lights, festive decor, and a Santa hat on its iconic clock face.
Guests seeking an even deeper holiday experience can book the ticketed Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour, which includes historical storytelling and reserved viewing of the “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.” Booking information is expected later this year.
Changes Across Disney California Adventure Park
Buena Vista Street will feature its own holiday-dressed Mickey and friends, while Santa Claus takes up residence at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, transformed into a festive playground for younger guests.
One major return: “World of Color – Season of Light,” which is back after being absent from the 2025 lineup. Dining package details will be announced later.
Other entertainment includes the Holiday Toy Drummers performing in Paradise Gardens Park before relocating to Hollywood Land for “Mickey’s Happy Holidays.” Select days will also feature “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” and “Mirabel’s Gift of the Seasons,” alongside the returning Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party.
Cars Land brings back its “Haul-iday” decor and nightly “Sh-boom” transition, plus two ride overlays: Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
The Disney Festival of Holidays also returns with six food & beverage marketplaces and the fan-favorite Sip and Savor Pass.
The Disney Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney
As usual, every Disneyland Resort hotel lobby gets a Christmas tree, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa also boasts a seven-foot gingerbread house display. Santa meet-and-greets are available at the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for guests not visiting the theme parks.
Themed dining includes Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays!, Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast, and Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party, along with new menu items at several hotel dining spots. Spa treatments and a 20% discount on hotel bookings from October through December round out the hotel offerings.
Starting November 23, Downtown Disney District joins in with nightly snowfall, seasonal food and drinks, and live entertainment. Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail also returns from November 11 through January 6, 2027.
New for 2026: Merchandise and Menu Items
New merchandise collections include the Mickey Mouse and Family Christmas Collection, Holiday Pastel Collection, and Disney Vintage Holiday Collection.
Confirmed food items so far include the Mickey Elf Shake and the Milk and Cookies Tree-shaped Macaron, with more expected as the season nears.
The Mickey Train Light Up Popcorn Bucket and Holiday Stitch Christmas Tree Sipper are also on the way, though their exact locations across the Disney parks haven’t been announced yet.
