It is no secret that going on a Walt Disney World vacation is an increasingly expensive excursion. Prices on everything from theme park tickets to Resort hotels to restaurants are increasing, and more and more people are finding a Disney vacation out of reach. Those who have gone to Disney frequently in the past are admitting that they are looking at other vacation destinations for future trips. And even those who are continuing to visit places like Disney World and Disneyland Resort are admitting that they are looking at ways to save money during their stay.
One Disney fan took to Reddit to ask other Disney fans what they were planning on skipping during their next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and the results were relatively unanimous. Disney fans who commented on the post mostly seemed to agree that during their next trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, they will save money by skipping sit-down dining.

Redditor Mountaineer78 said that his family enjoys sit-down dining, but the cost is just not worth it for them anymore.
Every trip we take, we eat fewer sit-down meals. Our most recent week-long trip, we did 3 (Whispering Canyon, Space 220 and Cinderella’s Royal Table). The next trip, maybe one or two. The time and cost relative to quality just makes it not worth it to us for the most part.
Redditor Turtles225 said that enjoying sit-down meals is just not feasible for their family without the Disney Dining Plan. The popular Dining Plan has not been offered since Disney World reopened after COVID. Disney has not said if and when the Dining Plan will return.
doing this when we go next month. too expensive without the dining plan. too many good quick service options that we’ve never taken advantage of.
Since reopening after the forced COVID-19 closure, Disney Guests have increasingly called the company out for higher prices and smaller portions. There are also frequent complaints that the quality of the food at the Parks’ sit-down restaurants is not what it once was. Redditor ForgottenSudo was in agreement with those complaints.
This disappoints me so much. Dining used to be at least half the fun (just going with adults). The quality and service were amazing. The service is usually still very good but the quality and variety just aren’t there.
Other Guests commented that they would be skipping the Park Hopping aspect of their Walt Disney World vacation. Since reopening, Disney has only allowed Park Hopping after 2 p.m. (1 p.m. at Disneyland Resort). Redditor MikeandMelly said that, with the time restrictions, Park Hopping was not worth it.
Not a conventional answer but park hoppers. I’ve been going to disney almost my entire 30 years of living and have gotten park hoppers for as long as they’ve been available.
Now, as a father of a 3 year old and 6 month old, I don’t think we will park hop until they are both done napping and out of strollers. Not even so much because they can’t (or the parents can’t) handle it, but because you have to take your time with kids that age and you don’t cover enough ground to make the hop worth it, especially with the 2pm cut off.
So, I will be doing one park a day for the first time in my life next time we go. I’m oddly looking forward to it though!
While Disney officials have said that theme park reservations are here to stay, for the time being, they have not confirmed that Park Hopping time restrictions will stick around.
