Wheel of Fortune first made its way to American televisions in 1975. For 40 years, the gameshow has solidified itself as part of American culture! Wheel of Fortune is as American as the Fourth of July, baseball, or Disney! You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t know the name Pat Sajak or Vanna White. However, earlier in the month, the longtime host of the gameshow, Pat Sajak, announced that he was stepping down after 41 years of hosting the show!
Rumors have been swirling about who would take his place. After becoming the host in 1982, Sajak’s exit will leave big shoes to fill as Wheel of Fortune is one of America’s most beloved television programs. In good company with Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune is one of the most-watched shows in syndication. As CBS Media Ventures announced a new five-year renewal, it was essential that a replacement for Sajak be chosen with due consideration.

It seems CBS finally has named the man who will host one of America’s most popular television events moving forward! Ryan Seacrest will take over the award-winning program, with Sajak acting as a consultant according to Variety.com. Television is not a new venture for Seacrest, who has acted as host to many other programs including American Idol.

Ryan Seacrest also has served as a host for Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade from 2005 to 2009. He also hosted Disneyland 200: 45 Years of Magic, a documentary highlighting some of the unique historical facts surrounding Disney. As the world prepares to welcome the newest face of Wheel of Fortune, I’d say the program is in good hands. Ryan Seacrest is likable, has a plethora of experience, and has the hardware to back it up. Seacrest is a Primetime Emmy® Award winner and has been nominated for several other awards for his work as a television host and producer.
Seacrest alos filled in alongside Kelly Ripa for Live with Kelly and Ryan after the departure of Michael Strahan in 2017. He’s experienced and well-versed in production and entertainment. His work with Sony Pictures Television, Disney, ABC, CBS, and others has well prepared him to step into the role as America’s favorite gameshow host! He was an A+ choice to replace the television legend! Seacrest is set to take over as the frontman for Wheel of Fortune beginning in 2024!
