Disney World Guests Reportedly Becoming Bored of Fireworks, Advocating For Eco-Friendly Alternatives

When it comes to Walt Disney World and Magic Kingdom especially, the fireworks are a huge part of the experience.

A day spent at the Most Magical Place on Earth just isn’t complete without the one-of-a-kind Disney fireworks once the sun has set! At least, we certainly feel that way.

But some Guests have outgrown the fireworks displays over Cinderella Castle.

It’s not uncommon for Guests to leave the Disney Park as the nighttime spectacular begins in an attempt to avoid traffic. It’s even more popular for Guests to skip the fireworks altogether to take advantage of the shorter lines.

As the times change and environmental impact becomes a bigger priority, some Guests wonder if the fireworks can be replaced with something more eco-friendly.

One Guest even suggests that fireworks be replaced with drone shows altogether:

However, other fans and frequent Guests of Walt Disney World pointed out that while drone shows may become popular in EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, many expect Magic Kingdom to continue using fireworks for years to come.

Frankly, we’re inclined to agree.

While fireworks are less common in EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and exempt from Animal Kingdom altogether, they’re a staple of Magic Kingdom Park.

As for Animal Kingdom and EPCOT, drone shows may very well become a thing of the future. The nighttime spectaculars in EPCOT and Animal Kingdom heavily rely on projections.

While Magic Kingdom also relies heavily on projections (which likely cuts down on the overall use of fireworks), the colorful explosives are all a part of what makes the experience so magical,  and we highly doubt they’re going anywhere anytime soon.
