A fan-favorite item is making its way back to EPCOT for 2023, so how many hours will Guests have to wait in line for one this year?
For Guests who frequently visit the Walt Disney World Resort–whether for a couple of days or for a week of vacation–parks merchandise often plays a big role in their fully immersive Disney experiences. It’s so important to some Guests that they’ll brave the rain, the wind, the snow, the rude Guests, and the five-hour lines, just for the chance to purchase certain pieces of Disney World merchandise–some who do so just to sell it on third-party sites.
In early 2022, Disney Parks TikTok teased the release of a brand-new popcorn bucket at EPCOT, and while lots of fans like Disney’s popcorn buckets, nothing could have prepared us for the super fandom that would reign down on the land (at EPCOT) during the Festival of the Arts at the park.
Some Guests stood in a line that weaved throughout Disney World’s second park, some for more than four hours at a time. And at times, it got brutal, as some Guests stood in line to purchase the “imaginative” little popcorn buckets, only to rush home and list them on eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, and other third-party sites. Let’s just say we saw the less-than-human side of things when it came to the newly-released popcorn buckets.
But not everyone acted that way as the popcorn buckets, inspired by Figment, the adorable little purple dragon from EPCOT’s Journey Into Imagination attraction, brought out the very best in some people. One gentleman even waited in line for four hours to purchase the buckets, only to keep one for his mom and give one to a total stranger at the end of the line that snaked its way through EPCOT.

The buckets will be back at EPCOT for the 2023 Festival of the Arts, which runs from January 13 to February 20, 2023, at the park, and if you’re one of the fans hoping to score Figment this year, you might want to go get in line now. Good luck!
