Walt Disney World, known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” sees guests from near and far to experience the wonder of Disney magic. Disney World is home to four theme parks, and each Disney World park includes its own themes and attractions, creating a world of wonder and imagination.
One popular character who has taken over Walt Disney World Resort is Figment. Figment is closely associated with EPCOT thanks to his popular attraction. Figment is a mischievous and imaginative purple dragon that has captured the hearts of Disney fans for decades. Figment was introduced to the world in 1983 when the Journey Into Imagination attraction opened at EPCOT’s Future World.
This friendly two-legged dragon with purple skin, big yellow eyes, tiny wings, and a distinct, toothy grin is making big waves at EPCOT. Disney just announced that Figment will be meeting guests starting September 10.
Disney World found out how guests really felt about Figment when the company released Figment popcorn buckets last year, and guests went wild, standing in lines for 8 hours or buying several to try and resell. Figment popcorn buckets kept selling out due to the high demand for the purple dragon.
Now, Disney guests headed to EPCOT for rope drop to try and meet Figment himself. In a viral video, guests can see the line and amount of guests waiting to meet the popular character. Guests walking past the line talk about how the wait inside to meet Figment was a 4-hour wait, and Cast Members were telling guests to come back later to wait in line to meet Figment.

Though you may have trouble meeting Figment for now, you can still experience his ride. Journey Into Imagination With Figment gives guests the chance to visit with the Institute’s beleaguered chairman Dr. Nigel Channing, who sets out to prove how the five senses capture the imagination—but the mischievous Figment upstages him! Guests should prepare themself for surprises galore as they travel through a series of vivid, whimsical sensory labs. Learn about all five senses as Figment turns the lab upside down and causes quite a stink in the Smell Lab. Guests should set their imaginations free and run wild on this marvelous, madcap musical adventure!
