Sure sunscreen and toiletries are obvious items to pack, but there are also some other essential items that are often forgotten that can help make a vacation be even more magical by avoiding hiccups and making things easier. These essential items can make all the difference on any vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort and should be on every Guest’s packing list.

Instant Coffee

One of the smallest things that can add up over time whether at home or at the Walt Disney World Resort is coffee. Guests who drink one or multiple cups a day will absolutely need their fix in the mornings before long days in the Disney Parks, and a fantastic way to meet this craving while not breaking the bank is by packing instant coffee. Several popular brands sell instant coffee packets and Guests can easily use them in their Disney Resort rooms in the morning to enjoy their beverage first thing or even carry them with them in the Disney Parks to easily make a caffeinated beverage on the go at any point throughout the day.

Laundry Bags

Every Guest knows the feeling of entering into a pristine Disney Resort room and wondering where that place went by the end of their stay. With lots of personal items from home as well as souvenirs and other things that add up, a room can quickly become messy and cluttered, but one simple item packed from home can help to make a big difference. Guests should absolutely pack designated bags for dirty laundry from home, whether garbage bags, totes, whatever. By having a designated bag for each individual Guest, laundry goes straight into the bag at the end of each day instead of being thrown around and then also can conveniently be thrown right into the washing machine upon returning home with no sorting necessary.

Extra Luggage

Guests should also always plan on packing an extra piece of luggage on any vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. A great option is a soft duffel bag that can break down and be folded into luggage while packing at home. Every Guest has been there when they realize that things aren’t quite fitting back into their luggage the way they had before as well as realizing that they may have bought a few too many souvenirs to make it home in the same bag. Having an extra duffel bag or something similar offers a little wiggle room and relatively large bags still meet the carry-on size restrictions of many airlines.

Light Layers

The Walt Disney World Resort is obviously located in Central Florida where humidity can soar off the charts and the sun can literally feel like it is five feet away at times, but there are also plenty of opportunities to be cold! During the off-seasons, Central Florida can get a little chilly at night and Guests also tend to forget that many of the attractions and experiences are located inside where the air conditioning is always pumping. It can be easy to get chilly at certain times, so Guests should definitely plan on packing some light layers, ideally something that can fold down to a small size so that it is convenient to carry with them in the Disney Parks.

Water Bottle

Refillable Water Bottle with Filter

Florida water can taste pretty nasty to those who are not used to it, and instead of wasting tons of money on bottled water throughout any vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, Guests should plan on packing a reusable option. Better for the environment, reusable options are widely available and many even come with built-in filters which allow for the ease of filling up at any water fountain while removing the strong taste of Florida water. Having a refillable bottle on hand at all times also helps Guests to remain hydrated which is essential when enduring high temperatures and lots of walking in the Disney Parks.

Aloe

Guests who don’t make it a priority to be hydrated and continually apply sunscreen will absolutely find themselves burned pretty quickly at the Walt Disney World Resort. It happens to the best of us, and an easy packing item that Guests should always plan on bringing is a small bottle of aloe. This gel will immediately help relieve the pain of a sunburn, and while it can be purchased at any Disney Resort, it is way cheaper to buy ahead and pack it just in case.
