With the number of visitors flowing into Disney Parks around the globe, there are times when negative news gets associated with Disney pixie dust. In this case, a 20-year-old Taiwanese woman is making headlines for a recent incident involving Hong Kong Disneyland Park.

According to a report, the 20-year-old woman was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, February 28, 2023, after she “slashed her boyfriend with a razor because he woke up late and couldn’t go to Disneyland with her.”

The woman’s 28-year-old boyfriend apparently slept in and woke up too late to join the woman for a visit to Disneyland on Monday, February 27. After a few drinks, the “enraged” Disney fan took out her anger on her boyfriend, then on herself with an eyebrow razor.

The incident was first reported to the police by an employee of the Mong Kok Hotel on Prince Edward Road West, just minutes from Hong Kong Disneyland Park, after “spotting blood stains” on the couple. The employee was worried the couple had attempted suicide and called the police.

The police and paramedics arrived at the hotel and sent the couple to Kwong Wah Hospital for help and investigation. From there, law enforcement decided to arrest the woman, who “suffers from emotional issues,” for harming her boyfriend after the story was made clear.

With the boyfriend sleeping in on Monday and missing the chance to accompany the woman to the Disney Park, the couple reportedly had an argument in which they dined separately that evening. When the woman returned to the hotel, the argument continued where the woman “grabbed and wielded a razor, slashing the boyfriend in his back and hands. She also cut her wrist with an eyebrow razor.”

The boyfriend had no intention of reporting the violence to the police, but instead, the hotel employee drew attention to the situation when spotting the blood stains. The case is now being handled by the Mong Kok district crime squad.

While itineraries and timed plans are crucial in keeping a Disney Park vacation seamless, this woman seemingly took the stress of visiting Hong Kong Disneyland Park to an unfortunate level.
